    Hey guys,

IDK if it's just user error or a bad switch. But I tried engaging the bed outlet via cabin switch (with 6 foot christmas lights), but the switch does not turn on. I did read the manual shortly after, however it doesn't seem to provide anything short of the obvious.

Can someone spare a moment to explain how to turn it on so I can go give it a try.

Well call me a dumbass but there's a switch in our trucks for that outlet? I just assumed there was power going to it anytime the truck was on. Where's this switch?

    Something ain't right there.

In the OM on Pages 413 through 415.

It says that you should hear a buzzer if there is a fault.

I tried a corded impact driver in 400w mode. It draws about 7A total, so it didn't have enough power with only about 3.5A available to do much of anything.

Pg 465 in your owners manual.

Consider it could be your lights. Check the outlet with a DVM or at least another small fixture. It may be working fine.

Shouldn't it still be able to activate without anything plugged in?

The engine needs to be running. 400W is available only in park.

If you are following the owners manual my guess would be a blown fuse.

Well sure. But how do you know if you don't measure voltage?

The switch indicator lights may or may not be working. Or you could be correct that you're up for warranty work.

But start simple, and check the outlet for juice after following the manual's instructions. If it's not hot, call the dealer for your appointment.

Haven't used it yet either.... but my understanding is 400W when running, in park. 100W when running and in gear. You may find useful info in the "400W anytime mod" thread. I would check your fuses (likely under hood)... the converter is under the console from what I have read.

I'll use my meters when I get home tonight to see if anything is flowing through. My guess though is that there's an underlying issue somewhere else.

It does not need to be running.

Vehicles without a smart key system
The engine switch is in the “ACC” or “ON” position.
Vehicles with a smart key system
The engine switch is in ACCESSORY or IGNITION ON mode.

Sorry, I’m at work so I couldn’t watch the video. Fuse is what I would check next.
