I would guess that they did the swop them selves. You can get a new tacoma frame for around 3k around here. Just the wait for one is terrible. Jeff just ordered one a month ago looking at april till he gets it. He got the 2010 i was biding on. And that was for an ac.

Nice! I am getting ready to swap over to my winter tires. Its too nice to do it today, but if i dont, it will probably snow next week or something. So i am effectively jinxing everyone in nova by putting the blizzaks on haha.

@HomerTaco will stock suspension be able to handle the weight of front/rear bumpers? What about the 35s?

    To many, but never done
They did to an extent on mine, basically if I went off-road I was hitting bump stops.

Won’t you just be driving home all naked and swapping everything back on, to include aftermarket suspension?

yes, but Im not sure if I should do the suspension swap, and leave the bumpers for now.. or if I should just do it all at once. Im planning on taking the tent/rack off this week. Slowly becoming naked

Also, what will happen if I drive the truck with the 31s and my regear? Any negative effects?

EDIT: want to know if I can swap the stock stuff, and still drive it around, while being naked, but not yet dropping off at dealership

I’d just take a weekend and knock it all out at once. Go to naked, then immediately to the dealer. Then get it back home, and immediately put stuff back on. It’ll be a lot of work but could definitely be done in two days. Just may need a helping hand or five.

So youre suggesting to give it to the dealer early? They told me 4-6 weeks on Friday. I still want to go to the Philly cheesesteak meet on the 8th, then Ill take everything off. Its not like its my DD, and they will give me a loaner too

No no im saying collect all parts you need, and once the dealer is ready, host a mod day and do everything at once. Then take it to the dealer. Stuff like the bed rack and skids could come off, but bumper/suspension/tires I’d do all at once.

The only thing that I remove from the truck prior to the swap was my Cap. That was only because I had some other plans in mind and it was easier with it removed.
The dealership that did my swamp put everything back on except the front bumper because the tow hook in the way.
They saved by shekel flip brackets for me and gave me all of the spare parts that they did not use like new rear leaf springs and all new ABS sensors.

Before I dropped it off I did a complete walk-through with the technician who was doing the swap. They were great about it.

I plan on asking to keep the LCAs, skip the alignment/rear leafs/driveshaft recalls. I will ask for the spare parts that they dont use. Thats a great idea.

The LCA’s were the only parts I could not keep - the tech said they had to go with the frame. Not sure why but IDGAF I got all new shit. :D

They swapped my custom crossmember for the crawlbox in to the new frame as well... gave me the stock one.
