No, I agree with you, but they only look at it as "hm 1 loss team, win over a #3 team, conference champ (if they win)" instead of doing the eye test. that's why I'm saying they can't possibly differentiate between opinions and stats. they pick and choose what they are concerned with.

Here is where I will make an argument with this statement. Yes, Bama's schedule was weaker this year. But, Bama also did exactly what they were suppose to do each and every week and that was leave no doubt. The closest any team came to Bama all year, ranked or not, was 22 points. What would Bama have had to do to get people off their sacks about their schedule? Its funny how Bama's SOS is the only one brought up each and every week when theirs is actually stronger than a few other top ranked teams.

to an extent, yes.

there are too many teams in college to have the same setup as the NFL, where the base it pretty much ONLY on wins/losses, and don't care how/when you won or lost.

but if the NCAA did 16 teams you'd basically rule out any of the "well this team also had 1 loss but y'all chose this one instead blah blah blah" opinion crap because look at the top 16 now...it includes a crap ton of 3 loss teams. and if you're on the outside of that....sorry you don't get to complain "well we deserved it" because frankly...if you lose 3 or more a year you are definitely not one of the best.

 

They beat a cupcake schedule like they were supposed to do, which they should with the amount of talent on that team. Mississippi State is overrated, and LSU’s great defense got exposed like all hell this past weekend .. by A&M?! If they lose to UGA this upcoming game, which I’d be surprised if they did, they have no business being in the playoff as a shoe in over OSU or OU.

For the record, I loathe OU and OSU.

I'm not saying LSUs defense is great, but they didn't really get exposed against A&M. They held them to 31 points in 4 quarters, won TOP, won total yards, etc etc in 4 quarters. The OT play was a bunch of 25 yard drives...and almost any team on any day can get 25 yard drives against anybody...that usually doesn't get them to the 50 though. In OT, it gets you in the endzone.

For what was advertised as a shut down defense all year, giving up 31 to A&M after only giving up 29 to Alabama doesn’t really sell me, and they could just as easily shut them down in 25 yards at any other point on they field. They got routinely run over.

Big 12 offenses are vastly superior to SEC offenses. Defenses are hilariously bad, but it’s not even in the same ballpark sans Alabama and UGA.

Y’all SEC homers can ride it all day long. I’m hedging Clemson blows out whoever they play in the playoff. Alabama will get their first real test this upcoming game, and Tua might have to throw a contested throw for once.

Also, very arguable A&M shouldn't have been allowed to score 31 and stayed at 24. Since they got 2 lucky (rule breaking) breaks on their last drive.

Where did I say WVU was in the convo? Also, this goes back years in scheduling. Alabama, LSU, and Auburn have laughable schedules. UGA is at least scheduling folks on their upcoming schedules.
