To mount this, did you just drill into the bed?

There is a steel support at the end of the bed. Yes drilled into the steel support, no not into the fiberglass bed.

This is fucking awesome! I just found what I'm getting EVERYONE for Christmas.

I always try to get everyone in the family something useful for their cars, 2015 got everyone a leatherman multi tool to keep in the glovebox. 2016 I got everyone a mobile jump box. Last year everyone got a med kit for their cars. This is a PERFECT compliment now everyone will be ready for almost anything!

Can't believe I hadn't heard of it sooner I just spent $200 a few months ago for a fancy H3R extinguisher and this looks like its a better solution anyways.

    Thanks for sharing!

I am running this mount behind my driver seat head rest. https://www.nbexpeditions.com/product-page/roll-bar-and-head-rest-fire-extinguisher-mounts

I normally never drive with passengers in the rear so it's a perfect location for me. I actually had to deploy my fire extinguisher earlier this year on a road trip in Northern California. I was on a small highway and drove past a small grass fire. I made a quick u-turn, turned on my ditch lights and grabbed the fire extinguisher. Luckily it was a small fire so I was able to put it out. 10/10 recommend everyone to carry one that's easily accessible

For those of you who keep one in the bed..are they safe/rated to be sitting outside in the sun all summer?

I was going to order that Element one but idk. Doesn’t seem like it will work at all if there is wind, no way to put out a larger fire from afar and no real info on that company besides their own YouTube videos that only have a few thousand views. Just seemed a little sketchy to me so I opted for a traditional one for the time being.

They are typically rated for -60f to 120f type of range, so they are fine outside/in the bed. The best ones for constant exposure should have metal nozzle assemblies; as the plastic is the part most likely to wear from UV/temperature.

Thanks for posting this! Bought two; one for myself and now I have a gift for a friend with a vintage 911.

They are giving 15% off right now and donating $5 per unit to help CA fires on their website. ~65 each and shipping was free!

    Working on them
I ordered the seat rail mount from Element also it mounts in the front of the passenger seat and the best part unlike those big bulky Kidde things an accidental Kick will not set it off nor do you have to worry about service with the Element units because there are no seals to leak over time and you do not have to constantly check the pressure gauge to make sure it is still going to work and the Element units are good for ALL types of fires not just A B C they are for A B C K and the 2.5 Pound units only have 5 to 6 seconds of charge the Elements have 50 seconds
