    question for any of you guys that have cold weather gear...what kind of outer layer jacket do you use? Insulated Down? Parkas? I'm in the market for a warmer jacket due to going back to below freezing temps come holiday time. I have been looking at Mountain hardwear DS stretchdown(fat kit problems), Patagonia nano puff, Carhart insulated, or the REI cheaper version of all the aboves. I have looked at Arcteryx too but they is too spensive it seems and they don't make fat kid clothes from the looks of it lol

    ? My rear shaft has sealed Ujoints from factory. Even the slip joint is missing grease fitting.

    Front shaft has ujoints with grease fittings. Remove two bolts and remove the small rear guard and grease away :thumbsup:

    My military cold weather gear was always layered. The important things are breathability, water repulsion, and wind resistance. In my full Gore-Tex kit (pants, Matterhorn boots, liner coat, outer coat, gloves) I could be outside for hours and a time and only be inconvenienced when I had to pee.

    It isn't so much a brand as structure.

    It's also a lot of shit to wear at one time...so I live in Texas now forever.

    It seems the mountain hardwear and the carhart are the most durable, I've seen reviews of issues with the stitching coming undone on the Patagonia if you use it for anything more than going to starbucks :laugh: But when I tried that one on it had the best fitment and the lightest weight of all of them.

    Those are some of the big ticket items that I'm looking for Capt. Must be breathable, water-resistant, wind-resistant, and not too damn big.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Don't feel bad I almost did that at REI the other day with an XL lol!!! Sadly I'm a 2xl in their "sport" fitting clothes. But luckily that one fits just right and it breaks down into a little tiny pocket built into the jacket.

    Also can withstand snow and below freezing temps. Don't plan on being outside too long at one time but ya never know what could happen.
