I do, but why should one team get 2 chances at it? the best it proves is a 1-1 situation.

I agree. The last 2 weeks of the season if you can't win those...then why do you deserve to play for first? I excuse the first couple of weeks moreso because folks are figuring out their teams.

 

Please, tell me why if Bama loses to Georgia this weekend, that they deserve another chance and just get plugged into the playoff?

 

If and huge if Alabama loses they shouldn’t be in the playoff. If you don’t win your conference championship you shouldn’t be in the playoff.

Oh I wasn't aiming that towards this conversation. That was more of a "in general" statement, haha.

The only way Bama gets in with a loss is if all the other teams that are "set in" lose as well.

 

This statement also negates the "Best 4 teams in the county" argument

 

I think there is where the problem lies with all our thinking. We're use to arguing in who the best team is, vice who the best TEAMS are.
Georgia is a very strong team. Pittsburg not so much, but they have their moments and are a sound team. If Alabama loses to Georgia, does that mean that Clemson, who only has to play Pittsburg, is automatically better than Alabama?
We're never going to be happy gentlemen, I don't know how to make college football reasonable unless we adopt schedules based on previous year's performance, much like soccer in europe

 

You weren’t best in your conference then you weren’t one of best for teams

 

the committee needs to actually decide how they're picking. is it 4 best based on opinion, or 4 best based on numbers/stats/record/losses. because they can't be 1 in the same. they can be similar, but not identical.

if Alabama loses to Georgia, and the others (Okalahoma/Ohio State) win their conferences, why does Alabama deserve to be in over them at all? they don't, they just proved they couldn't beat 1 of the top 4 so they don't deserve another chance at it. same goes for Georgia. if Georgia loses and Oklahoma/Ohio State also lose...then I think UCF deserves it because those other teams just proved they can't win it...so why do they deserve another chance?

it's literally not a Bama hater thing. it's a "you just lost you don't get another chance" thing. you just think it's a Bama hater thing because the only team that is allowed to be the exception to this has been Bama.

 

Last year's National Championship trophy proves that statement false.

 

I disagree with this, but I don't think you should be allowed at a chance to be #1. You can not play in the playoffs and get ranked 2-4 at the end of the season.

the rankings aren't out. they'll be top 4 tonight when they drop Michigan out.

 

So a 1 loss Bama to a top 4 team is a worse loss than a Blowout loss to a unranked 6-6 team. Got it...no Bama hate at all....

You have Teams 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. all fighting for first place. 1 loses to 4, and 2,3,5, and 6 all win. why does 1 get another shot at playing against 4 over teams 5 and 6 when they literally just lost to 4?

 

That's not the point.. the point is they would have had the opportunity to beat a top 4 team and couldn't, so they don't deserve another chance.
What last year's championship proves is that you give another team enough chances they'll beat someone, it just happened to take only one more chance.

 

EXACTLY. if you put auburn in the playoff every year...they'll get lucky once and beat a team they lost to before. guaranteed.

 

All this being said, I still think Alabama will beat Georgia and all this is speculation lol
