It's funny; I work with a guy that is from PA, (Philly area, but not Philly). I was in NJ with him a month or so ago, and one of the guys at the customer site asked him where he was from, and he said PA. The guy said, "oh, so you're right here as well!". My coworker said, "No, I'm in PA...".

I drove over a freshly tarred road in the pro yesterday.
    :frusty:
There’s no gravel or anything stuck to the truck, just little black dots and streaks all over the sides. Anybody have suggestions to get this stuff off?

It's totaled. I'll take it off your hands for $20 and a case of Spaten.

Seriously, I usually just use Meguiar's bug and tar remover and a little elbow grease. I keep the truck waxed up so it usually comes off with little effort.

Haha cool, thanks Cap. I’ll do that this afternoon. It was freshly waxed so hopefully it comes off without too much fuss.

I hate when this happens. It happened in my VW R32.

Best thing to do is wash the panel with a degresaser soap like dawn dish soap. Keep in mind your wash mit you use will most likely need to be tossed after this since it will trap the grease. I wouldn't use it on the paint again if it was me. Also keep in mind whatever wax/sealant you had on the paint is probably now gone due to the degreasers in the soap so at a minimum I would use a spray wax to reapply to the panel.

Next thing to do if the grease is still there (which it probably will be) is to use a clay bar. Pick up the Mother's Clay Bar kit. It can be used at a later time to clay your paint since it comes with two bars of clay. Break off a piece of the clay and work it in your hands. Use the spray bottle the kit comes with and spray the affected area. Run the clay back and forth in a horizontal direction. This should pull up the remainder of the tar.

**If there is still tar; repeat the top step again, or if you want you can purchase a grease and tar removing product from you local parts store. I believe Turtle Wax brand still sells some stuff.

PM me if it's still an issue. I can help walk you through it.

Understood. Delassandros is one of the top 10 places in Philly. It's not near center city though. Worth the trip for a "real" cheesesteak.

yep. cost my lady $4k, i believe. 3 or 4 exams, classes...like a semester of school, basically. she wants to start a business that focuses on groom and groomsmen. in her perfect world, she'd be rolling around in a remodeled school bus (short bus) that is fully set up to do hair and shaves at wedding venues (or wherever the groom is staying). it's got potential. finding the $$$ will be the hard part.
