Well yeah if I had that lifestyle I wouldn't have a choice. I drive an average of 1200 klicks (so like 750 miles) a month. Definitely a city truck with a short commute.

Gave it up 10 years ago great choice. But it’s always funny to order a triple whopper meal and ask for a bottle water instead of fountain drink lol. I do miss Dr. Pepper though

Talk to a Toyota representative and ask them if liquid goes down the vent how would one clean it or does it drain to a safe location, like outside the truck. If anything someone at Toyota can tell you how their venting system is setup and you can make your move from there.

Honestly, if I were you I’d pull the dash and try my best to clean it.

I have an E320 and my passenger spilled soup (don’t ask me how it happened, because I still don’t know to this day) on the Center Control stack.

It worked for a while, but eventually I had to replace a ton of electronics under the affected area from corrosion.

Fruit smoothie was also dropped on the backseat another time. Mopped it up best I could, but eventually it seeped under the seat and... directly on top of the battery, fuse box, and pneumatic lock system because German Engineering.

Point being, clean it up before it causes more damage.

Pour some warm water down into vent and see if this will help it evaporate or thin down the sugar so it will not gum up ac parts???

After looking at the diagram and the amount of liquid that went in there. I’m not too convinced that any of it made it to anything important. I have an endoscope coming in the mail so I can get a good idea of what’s going on in there. I appreciate the diagram! The filter and air box were spotless.

Garden hose! Maybe not a great idea. Lol I’m waiting on the endoscope to come in the mail to see what’s going on down there.

Maybe get some air tubing and siphon it out if it's a decent pool.

Save yourself the hassle and buy some gas stabilizer. Fill the gas tank to the brim, put in the recommended amount and let it run for 10 mins or so. I use it in my sleds, lawnmower, weed whacker, snowblower etc before storage and have never had a problem the following season (both 2 and 4 stroke engines)

For the vent mess, i’d make sure the heater is at full temp and then pour some hot water with a tiny bit of dish soap down the same spot and hope it washes out the syrup. I might be called lazy, but it’s worth a try before tearing everything apart......

So far so good with the mess. I discovered that the system drains. I dumped in a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and let it work a little. Cranked the heat up and let everything moisten. Flushed the defrost vent with about a half gallon of hot slightly soapy water. Let sit for a half hour on full blast, alternating the vents. Still a little sticky on the dash vent blend door, I popped off the dash around the radio, stuck the borescope down, seen it was all sticky around the vent, flushed another quart of hot soapy water. Let sit on full blast to dry up. Everything seems to be cleaned out for the most part. No more sticky doors, for now. Ill see what happens when everything is totally dried up. Called Toyota and they told me that I shouldn't mess with anything and to take it to the dealership for them to deal with it. Not looking for a 1500 stealership fee.

Still think you should have used Jack Daniels. Then you would have the fragrant smell of Jack and Coke every time you use it. :D

Which is great right up until the trooper walks up to your window on a traffic stop, sniffs carefully, and then asks you to step out of the car.
