30 minutes, just to be sure

How do you get the dip out of the A and O

 

Toothpick! Get the plastidip started and twist the toothpick to pull it out of the center of the A and O

Now sometime soon gonna dip the bumpers or figure something to get that nasty chrome gone! It's the only remaining.

Thinking of doing the fender flares along with the chin piece on the front bumper. Does anyone know how to remove the chin piece from the rest of the front bumper?

And what's the consensus on removing or leaving the flares on the truck to dip them. Leave them on and peal early?

 

Front chin piece is held on by 4 or more plastic clips. Very easy to remove.

Personally, I'd leave the fender flares on as they are also held in place by adhesive. Just mask well and like you said, peel right after the last wet coat were needed.

 

Sweet thanks, and how are people masking of the inner fender liner? Or are do you not even bother?

 

No, absolutely mask that. You don't won't over spray on your struts and other parts .

Best suggestion is to tape a piece of plastic drape to the fender liner and let the plastic hang down to also cover the wheels. Make sense??

 

Yeah, I was definitely going to mask all suspension components. Was more thinking of overspray on the fender liner itself, but may as well take my time and mask it all off nicely.

 

Honestly taping a long piece of plastic drap and letting it cover all is the quickest and most effective IMO. Saves a lot of time

 

DONT PEEL RIGHT AWAY. you want to let the plasti dip dry and then you peel. If you sprayed enough coats on (you should do at least 6-8 coats) it’ll peel off as one perfect strip. There are so many YouTube videos on spraying this stuff. I highly reccomend watching some of them before you go at it.

 

This is 100% inaccurate my friend. Trust me, I have done a lot of dipping in my life. I just dipped my engine cover and I thought "ahhh I'll let it dry then peel after. Those are clean lines it should separate." Nope, it peeled right off the letters i wanted to keep dipped.
Idk maybe in this application, it would work fine, but I even called DYC.com and they said "yeah, just mask well and peel on the last wet coat to get a clean line then."

I've dipped my entire truck before a few years ago. I have a few do's and dont's.

Big question for you all Plastidip people fan! I'm contemplating on purchasing a tonneu cover and planning to PD it black and i was wondering if anyone has done this before and how is it holding up. This will be my first time utilizing this product and will like some feedback/recommendation tips etc.
