I just gotta say how much i hate the young kids in my town who think they are gangsters and can get away with anything. they just travel in packs and choose there battles clearly with a "quantity over quality" style meaning they are a bunch of scrawny shits who fight in packs

I was walking from my place to the pub by myself tonight which is by the beach so it is a common spot. like 20 or so kids are yelling at 2 other guys minding there own business i somehow end up in the middle of the group and the guy is yelling walking towards me but facing the other way he bumps into me i just keep walking. out of nowhere his friend boots me in the shin... first thought was, did he just kick me in the shin?? haha i look back they do there talking and i make a smart decision and keep walking. 1 on 20 isnt the greatest odds i dont care who you are

so i go on my way and goto the pub then went up to the casino and won a 200$. I called it a night a while later and i start walking home. wouldnt you know i somehow find 3 of these kids behind me yelling shit at me.. I play it cool and keep walking. so they catch up and one of them pushes me in the back so i go forward then i turn around and say something like " what the fuck im just walking home" then im thinking well shit i have $300 in my pocket this isnt going to be good.. i tried my best to play it cool im now backing away from them the one kid grabs my shirt starts to make a fist and i realized at that point i was fighting.. the kids buddys are right there and before he gets a shot on me i gave him a solid left jab then another right hook. the kid goes down and his friends dont even do anything. I kept backing up and it was over the friends just kept beaking as i left, I was not there to fight nor did i do anything not even look at the kids haha.

I just dont get it are young kids like this in your area? im talking like the 16 to 18 year old range? I know in canada because of the gun laws it would be a rare occurance to come across anyone with a gun, so do some kids in the us see that as a threat and have more respect?

I guess my lesson here is to keep going to boxing/martial arts because thats where i learnt to throw power into that left right i tossed at him.. not that im looking for a fight but it came in real handy tonight.

    thanks for listening

99% of kids in general have no respect for anything.

Sorry you were put in that situation man. I'm glad nothing bad happened to you.

I agree with Derek. A lot of these teens these days just have me shaking my head, probably the same thing their parents are left doing as well.

there are some really scenic trails and some pretty good technical stuff but nothing like the places in the US. the best trails ive done have been the ones getting to secluded camping lakes and such. if your ever down again we should go for a run!

The things required to pull bitches
Where I am there's kids that are 14 15 16 that acts tough and claim to be in some gang. When they are challenged or you call them out they are shit.

I had something like that happen once. I was at liquor with some drunk friends. My buddy starts hitting on this chick at the parking lot, she was pretty flirty. Well her 2 cousins came out and didn't seem to like it. They looked to be 18 ish. He said if we didnt stop he would "stick us" and kill us. My buddy who was flirting took his challenge and approached him. My other buddy goes to the truck and pulls out a bat. They saw the bat hopped in their car and took off. We all piled back into my friends truck and I was driving, we chased them for a bit but eventually backed off for fear of cops.

What you Did was right, Just let it go and don't look for trouble. What I did was Plain stupid, Who knows they could have had a gun and I could have been shot or worse.

Very few young people in the US have respect for any one or any thing. It is the parents fault. People just don't take responsibility for their own actions any more. It Sucks. In most cases these hoods are WANT TOBE GANG MEMBERS. The bad part about that is A WANT TOBE CAN SHOOT YOU DEAD THE SAME AS THE REAL THING!!!

Krav Maga FTW, stupidity should be fucking painful and should serve as a constant reminder that you can be too big for your britches. You did the right thing by trying to stay out of it, but as soon as it went hands on, you should've finished the fight. a ripped off ear or missing eye would probably deter that type of behavior in the future.

And next time, stop backing away after that first punch. The best defense is a good offense. Suprise and shock is a good way to land first punches on the other little shits.

16 - is that an adult yet in Canada?

^^Can any LEOS chime in on that? Where does that stand in the law? Self defense against a minor, I'm a smaller guy (5'7" and 125 on agood day) I know some middleschoolers that are bigger than me.

My question is where are the parents of these kids? I put blame on the parents. Today, in families where bother parents are working or it is a divorced family, extra time is needed on the PARENTS part to ensure family time is kept up. Dinners at home, checking homework from school, bedtimes etc etc. I am a parent in a faimly where both my wife and I work 46hrs/wk. No too mention keeping the house up and all our other responsibilites. We still find time, even of we are tired or want to do something for ourselves, to always interact with our son. As he gets older, OUR time is squeezed out. It is his time from birth to about 18. This is where all of life's early lessons are learned. From the parents.

Kids today have too many distractions and not enough play. Too many gadgets and not enough parenting, discipline and chores. Think when we were kids, shit man I had to pick acorns up from the grass in our yard. We had 3 MONSTER oak trees. I hated it then, but my dad always taught me the value of work. Something that I think is lost on kids todays as more parents want to have kids but don't want to invest what is needed during the formatitive years. Everything is great when they are babies. When they get older and start to have thier own lives, some parents think they are done. Not by a long shot.

Anyways, I agree with the self-defense, once my son is old enough he will be enrolled. Not only for self-defense in this crazy world but for the structure and discipline. Glad to hear you made out all right.

^^I've noticed the same thing, I'm 28 and catch myself going "back in my day"...I think its inevitable. I am glad for it though, I look at my parents and granparents generations and definately see something missing in society.

Kids aren't that bad where I am since it's a small town, but when I visit my sister in Houston I just sigh in disappointment at the kiddie-gangs.

They are all talk but no walk from my experience, im from New Orleans and we got plenty of our white wanna be gangsters that say the N word at the end of each sentence. All they do is drive around with POS' with rims and wear flatbillers and blare rap out of their cars with the obnoxious stereo's.
