I went with the 2.0's because of clearance issues and I figured I would have to do the same thing with bump stops, but I could still probable fab up me own mounts either way. No matter what that will be a ways in the future. After the shock relocate some 35's, 4.56 gear sets, and a front Locker will be on the chopping block.

Gonna save even more with the 2.0's. Should keep you under $600 with the bump cans. Go 4.88's if you're going 35's. I have 4.56 and they are fine, but 4.88's will be better. I plan on jumping to 5.29's if I break anything so I can go to 37's. Also need a front locker as well.

I will be running 4.56 because I will be dropping down to 33s in the winter since that is 7 months out of the year up here. If I was to run 35s year round I would so run 4.88s. The locker is just a nice addition since the clam shell will be open.

Why different sizes in winter? And agree on adding the locker while you're in there.

When I comes to snow and ice the smaller the tire the better. You end up getting more rubber contact with the road with a smaller tire. I will also be running a mud terrain tire in 35 and that is the absolute worst tire for snow pack and ice. If you run a mud with those road conditions you might as well run a racing slice. Lol

Agreed on the mud terrains. I'm bummed they don't make duratracs in a 37. They've been great in snow/ ice but the 35 is the biggest they go. Probably going with cooper stt pro for my 37's. But I don't see the logic on the bigger vs small tires. 285's vs a 37x12.5 is only 1.2" width difference.

Ya I really like my duratracs and they have treated me really well off road and in the winter. So the width is the problem. With a wider tire you do more smashing down of the snow, instead of digging through the snow. The best way to describe it is like a snow shoe vs just walking in the snow with your boots. With the snow shoe you tend to stay on the surface of the snow, while in your boots you sink until you hit solid ground and that is where all you traction is. This same analogy works with water as well. I hope that makes sense. Granted there are a lot of other aspects that get involved in the winter, like sipes in the tread, your tread pattern and how more tread is left on the tire.

You said smoothies, but did you at least get a remote resi or piggyback? And 4-6weeks is pretty standard. Hell I had to wait 13 weeks to get my rear bypasses last year

Think my Kings were 6-8 weeks. Pretty standard.

We'll also have to find the time when we can knock it out.

By the way, you'll also need to get some shock mounts. Not sure what lower mounts the 2nd gen guys usually use, I know they'll have to be pretty long to get low enough off the axle. Also might as well get some generic ruff stuff mounts for the upper. Probably easier to just weld those correctly spaced brackets onto the tube and then try to make it work with the plate and weld washers.

Do this. It'll make life easier. I know DMZ will sell you the lower shock mounts. Kartek might have both upper and lower, or any general place that sells fab parts

Yeah man been a little bit. Hopped in here to see what you got going on. Stoked to see shock relocation coming soon! You’re gonna love that “staying planted” feel.

Yeah man thanks! Had my son 6 weeks ago! He’s awesome. I like him. Gonna keep him for sure.

Ya I am super excited about this upgrade.

That is good to hear that you are enjoying the new one and that you want to keep him.
