44f here this morning (I know!) and the tune definitely warmed the truck up faster, TSB takes a few miles to get the needle to the center (I won't push it above 2500rpm until then, I'm weird).

Ah, Florida... 25 here this morning (though in TN we still don't get "winter" like our northern friends do), truck warmed up fine on the TSB but I still always take it easy until it's warmed up but generally isn't more than 5 mins or so. My truck always, stock or tuned, misfires a bit more on a cold start in the winter. Nothing I'd notice if I wasn't looking at OBD2 data, and never more than 8-9. And once it's warm, no misfires generally

Will be interesting to see how this winter shapes up though. We had both the warmest and coldest winter I can remember last year. Weeks that felt like central FL, and several weeks that felt like MN with lakes and ponds frozen over. Ice skating in community ponds = something I had never seen IN NASHVILLE until last year, but a couple of weeks where the daytime highs didn't get much above 10-12 degrees. Then...in late Feb it flipped to warm, early spring.

Hoping Santa brings me 1.05 to beat the winter blues

5 Min warm up?! I barely get above 30mph so maybe that's a reason. Took me a good 20mins and 4 miles to get the needle to the middle.

Modern vehicles take forever to warm up while just idling they are ultra-efficient so you really have to only let it idle 15-20 seconds and drive off slowly. My tacoma won't put out much heat even if left idling for 10 minutes on cold NY mornings.

use s mode and hold it in a low gear with RPM over 2,000. it'll warm up pretty fast. at idle, not so much.

Yeap and in the manual it usually says to idle for 20sec and then start driving slowly. At least that's what was in my Audi's manual and it was a twin turbo.

Any chance there are some handheld units, with 1.05 uploaded, packed in those boxes?

The dealer can do it but sometimes will give you the run around. You can also do it yourself with techstream. People have had success both ways, just depends what you are comfortable with

If I go to the dealership do I have to tune it back to stock?

If you are going to the dealer to get the TSB update, yes flash to stock first.

Sorry Mat, I thought he was asking a general question, as in "Will the dealer know that I'm running an OVTune-flashed truck if I take it in without flashing back to stock."
