    I'm new to both Tacomas and the Raleigh area. Anyone have a breakdown of the decent off-road friendly shops in the area for maintenance help, complex installs, welding, etc? I can do some of the work and installs myself for bolt-on stuff, but I know my limits and can really use a tip on which shops to call when those limits are reached.

    Second question, are there any actual overlanding/camping Taco clubs in the area that I should hook up with? I hate wheeling and adventuring alone.

    Thanks ahead of time!

    Welcome! I don't have the software, but my step-father owns a locksmith company and IIRC he does programming. However, he is located in VA between Roanoke and Greensboro. I don't know if that would be any help, but it's what I got for you.

    Welcome! I don't know of any shops personally and I haven't really looked into that due to the fact that I do all of my own work on my personal vehicles. As for your second question, again I don't know of any clubs per se, but I know a lot of the guys here venture out to Uwharrie National Park on a fairly frequent basis. I haven't been there as of yet, but it's to my understanding that there is a little bit of everything for people to do there whether you're vehicle is bone stock or not.

    No shops 99% of what we do to our trucks is bolt on, or what I consider bolt on. Just stay away from 4WP in Raleigh for shops don't know any others really. No real groups or clubs we will hook up and ride Uwharrie together and hang out from time to time. TW is kinda that club lol

    @ovrlndkull

    Actually, now that I think about it, I was over in Harnett Co. the other weekend and I remember passing a "coming soon" sign for a shop called "CDT Offroad". I had nearly forgotten about it, but either way I have no idea what they're about or if it was a "coming soon...but never came" deal.

    As far as installs go, Josh from Apex Overland is up near greensboro. He's a solid dude with a rad 4runner. For groups, check out Carolina 4runners Off-Road group, SEFJ Cruisers, and Carolina Outdoor Syndicate on Facebook groups. All are filled with local NC/SC campers, wheelers, and outdoor enthusiasts. For minor welding and stuff, theres plenty of members who would enjoy lending a hand on the weekend!

    PM me if you have any other questions!

    I'm planning a trip to visit my grandmother in pinehurst around December 17th. I'll have to check Uwharrie National Park out while I'm down there

    Welcome

    Welcome
    Clubs are annoying, if you want to get out and wheel without the headache of a club (We don't do the jeep thing of throwing 5 groups of 60 vehicles on the trails) check out the URE thread. Keep active in here, some of us want to go before the end of season.

    Yep sounds like he needs someone to cut the key and then if they don't program it he needs someone to do that too.

    @ovrlndkull my buddy has an air locker that he bought and never installed on his truck. It was for a 1st gen Tacoma so if the axles are the same, you could get that thing for cheap because he’s been trying to sell it for a while now. It’s the whole package with everything needed to install
