The benefits of a jacket like this are:
Waterproof
Layered System -
Wear the jacket alone, with a long sleeve shirt or sweater, great for rainy day and chilly temps.
Wear the liner alone, great for cold temps without any extra bulk.
Wear both together and you have a coat worthy of any climate and pretty much will keep you warm unless it's freezing.

Detachable Hood
Under Arm Zippers (excellent when the sun heats things up and you are more active, I use mine all the time)
Durable materials.

I have had my jackets (2 of the same, just different colors) for like 10 years now and have not had any issues.

 

Whatcha get? I'm in the market. Looking at the Arlo Pro 2 system. Love the system, hate the price.
