From a more business aspect, we can see the demand for GFC is pretty high while the supply is extremely low. I bet I’d be able to have one for a while, then sell for the same price I bought it so someone can skip the year long wait.

That way you almost never “lose” money.

Thats a good point. Would the surf boards have to removed from the gfc as well? So they dont hit the roof? Have you looked at camp ovrlnd? Kind of a cross between a fwc and a shell. Allows a little more space then a gfc. Would atill allow for roof rack as well. This is one of the options im considering

You have some validity there, however depreciation is always a thing. If a consumer pays full retail on a used product due to low supply, they are really bad negotiators, the business (GFC) model is poor, or a combination of the two.

I find it interesting that they have started a business in such a niche market with few resources to push out the product in a reasonable amount of time or offer exceptional customer support.

Agreed. Yet it seems the whole scene is continuing to grow, and there are those people who would pay full retail + some to have it a year early.

Beats me hah, I’d never do that.

I did see it but it’s unfortunately out of my budget. The GFC was pushing it just a tad, and the Flippas is the most reasonable optionZ

If I can figure out a way to add roof racks on the Flippac, I’m golden.

This looks pretty sweet if you're willing to bargain with the guy.

Have you received the TRD Pro grill that you ordered for the second gen?

I guess... we live in a world of immediate gratification so if you have the expendable money and enough of a desire, it’s not out of the question.

I have neither of those so... :pout:

I've averaged 20 this year and last. 11 isn't too bad. Granted I live in Utah not SoCal, so its much easier for me to get out and not have to brave the LA thunderdome (anymore)

It was one night every 11 days. Pretty much 2x a month so 24 nights in 1 year.

I guess I read that wrong. 24 nights is applaudable.

Short bed silver haha. Found some on Craigslist for under 400 but I’m always just a little too late.

I'll be in the tent 16-20 days straight next summer. Gonna get a REAL good sense of things to add/remove/change after that.

Now that’s legit and a trip where investing into a nicer setup is applicable. I mainly do 1-2 night trips and MAYBE get a 3 day in there once in awhile.

It’s a goal to get out once a month but recently those trips have been more day trips than overnighters. As long as I see dirt once a month I’m happy for the meantime.

You guys do tend to shy away from the overnight trips. We’ve only been wheeling together once though so I’m no expert on the matter.

Yeah, I'm normally a weekend warrior as well, but I decided I needed to do something big and change it up. Life is too short to sit behind a desk and do the whole "accountant" thing all the time. Meanwhile my do-nothing coworkers think I'm a lunatic... "But there's bears" "isn't it cold up there" "why don't you just take a cruise?"
