I actually really like the idea of moving the dual battery system there although you would really want a long run of thick cable. Doesn't appear he used anything bigger than #1 cable though. That said, moving both my batteries there would really free up a bunch of space under the hood. Additionally it would take a lot of the weight off the front of the truck and put it in the bed where Tacoma's actually lack some needed weight, especially in snow.

Kind of along those lines, since I can no longer fit my spare under the truck, I've thought a number of times about cutting out the spare tire mount/chain lift (it is fabricated to hold the long members of the frame together on the back) and welding some narrow steel plate across the frame instead to replace the support. I've wanted to mount a metal box in that space with essentials in it (weapons, etc) that could be secured in a place normally not looked at. There is a lot of space under there when the spare is removed.

 

About a year ago a a Church was planning to buy it (and paid for security in the mean time). Earlier this year the church backed out and since then folks have been visiting. It will end up like carraway in no time.

 

There's also a old perpetual care funeral home up there that has the bodies still in the caskets in it. Place where you could come back and visit. Kinda creepy in the first place but even worse that they abandoned it and left the bodies in there.

would the extra money be awesome? yes

i pay all my bills easily and not living paycheck to paycheck, but say an extra 500-600 + half utilities would add up quick for my location. All cash, but definitely a well written roommate rental agreement. Thoughts?

I live alone btw with 2 german shepherds. Have a girlfriend, but we're oldschool and she doesn't stay over.

@stronghammer did you ever consider this before you fell in love? I ask because you're the only other one i know who owns a house that was living alone.

 

I considered it heavily. I enjoy living my own schedule my own life with no issues with another person more than I would enjoy an extra 500 a month.

 

I would say NO. I had a roommate in college. Did it for the money. Wasn’t worth the trouble.

 

it's about picking the one with similar ideals. nothing i would advertise only ask a few certain and if no bites then no go.

i was looking on CL for my areas going rate for a roommate 500 with inconvenient areas in 35124, so 500 for me plus half utilities should be easy.
