meh maybe wait until the actual MSRP comes out before assuming that these will sell by the boat load...

IMHO no way will anyone get a four door pick up with a diesel and a manual for anything under 50k

    I'm pretty excited for this.

Solid axles, deisel option, manual tranny, probably even has carplay. I think they have a winner, as long as the frame can stay in one piece:rofl:

I'm guessing the base price will probably be 50k.

These will be out of my price range new, but having a top off and solid front axle are what I miss most about my LJ I had.

I need to hurry and buy a Tacoma before they launch this thing. The EcoDiesel is pretty rad and the fact they are putting it in the truck is rader.

I've given up on Toyota offering a diesel Tacoma, it just ain't happening. But maybe this will light a fire under Ford to get one in the new Ranger sooner. They're gonna have to do something to even be noticed in the segment and they haven't even sold the first one yet.

Have you ever priced a Wrangler Unlimited? I got my TRD OR DCSB for thousands less than a base Wrangler with minimal options.

They'll be 40k + and still sell like hot cakes. The removable top and truck bed are definitely a cool concept, but there's no way I'd spend that kind of money.

Yeah sorry... Love my Tacoma, but my only sacrifice was taking that top off my old Jeep. Like I said before though, the price tag on this thing will keep it a pipe dream.

Ford said they will not offer any engine or trans options period in the Ranger. I heard the cost to bring the Ranger to the US was astronomical.

What percentage of the Tacoma market is even aware of these types of things? Of that, how many actually pursue them?

We're on an enthusiast forum. The rest of the owners are interested in cupholders and gadgetry.

    Soccer dads, if you will.

Jeep may take a high % of the 'real' off roaders, but the 'occasionals'? Not so much.
