It's not bad, if you like yoga and frustration simultaneously.

 

Thanks for all of the replies. Incredibly helpful. I may save that one to finish until I get under-seat sub and sound deadener installed and run the wiring at the same time for the O2 sensor. I have AFR reading on my head unit from the OBDII connection in the meantime.

Some people swear by removing the jet but I leave mine in for a reason. There is much debate on the subject so do your research before just yanking that thing out so you can make your own educated decision.

The restrictor jet is just a pneumatic damper for the bypass valve spring. It SLIGHTLY slows down the bypass valve.
Would you drive your truck on just springs with no shocks?

 

I see what you mean. Makes sense. I mean, I have driven my truck without shocks, but I get what you mean. Possible excessive wear on the bypass spring since now it can slam open and closed. I think I'll leave it in. I'm happy with how the truck runs for now until I do it right and install a tuner. Boost ain't everything if you truck isn't tuned right.

 

I personally love it. No issues here.

If it's the equal to driving without shocks then shame on GM for sending out their thousands of Buick Regals, and Pontiac GTP's from the factory without one.

Then again they came configured from the factory with the FPR boost referenced and they are tuned to not be so darn pig rich as well.

It's a personal decision on this mod. I have found better boost stability and slightly higher boost output with it removed. Then again I found better stability of boost with the upgraded tensioner/ double bearing pulley setup I now run, so every little thing adds up. Your results may vary.

Not an aging man's bladder issue.

 

Unless you're an uppity Oceano home owner.... Then it's a source of "stress, noise/air pollution" enjoy it while it's open. Some asshat is trying to close it every year. I'd be pissed if I liked sand, but I just never got the sand bug.
