You do not *have* to flash to stock when flashing the TSB, I just recommend it to eliminate any possible cause of issue when the dealer is updating it.

Think of it this way, if the government told mat that he isn’t allowed to clear check engine lights, then the government will have a meltdown if he disabled a safety feature which is a required standard safety feature

We sit here and talk about drivabilityand this has been a gripe of mine since I had my 2011. I drive in the snow and mountains frequently and enjoy it. But I also enjoy driving my vehicle the way I want.

I agree, its not as much fun to play in the snow with it engaged.

I'll double check on my truck but I'm pretty sure if you hold the button down for 10 seconds it stays disabled until you press it again.

If it’s government regulated then I get it. But is it? Or is it a Toyota thing? Maybe I’m naive. Facts only not opinion please.

Also there has been talk of removing Cats and other regulated parts so I don’t see much difference in the matter.

I believe it turns it self back on when there is enough slip. I learned that, playing around in the snow. But I never tried the 10 seconds thing. It would be cool if that works.

People on this forum have done burnouts in their trucks with it off, I've personally had the truck spinning up down the road... it doesn't turn back on when you hold it down for long enough.

It does. It beeps. It pulsates.
You live in Florida... Not much snow and not much Mountainous driving conditions out in those parts

Hold it down... they won't release an offroad truck where you can't turn the traction control off....

This isn’t a Toyota approved mod, so why would it matter if it’s a Safeway feature or not?

I legitimately looked up on the NHTSA website and stability control is a government requirement in all cars sold in America today. And the whole cats thing is touchy because some states have strict emissions testing while some have relaxed testing and others have no testing

I believe Matt is right. Hold button in for about 5 seconds or so and it will remain off regardless of your speed.
