I hate those things because it simply turns all the intersections into a panhandler paradise.

Well, they’re fucked now because their little camp is being turned into CapMetro parking, and with that comes the order to GTFO. CapMetro wants riders, and it ain’t gonna let panhandling druggies scare off it’s park-and-ride customers.

 

True. And dang!

I wonder what they all will go. These south Austin camps are getting big and it's not like there's a shortage of woods down here.

 

that's what I do.

 

The woods just off Slaughter and I-35 (behind the U-Haul place) have a full camp in them. Well...they at least they did. Some kind of construction project is forcing them to move again. There were a bunch that used to camp out in some woods by Slaughter and Manchaca, but a group of “insistent” (and well armed) Tanglewood Forest residents with bush hogs and weed whackers went into the woods and cut the brush back, especially in the holes where they’d pitch their tents. Since it wasn’t inviting, they moved along.

Some tried to move into the woods along Saddle Creek, but the Bauerle Ranch HOA wasn’t having it and ran them out with extreme prejudice.

Still...there’s a reason I have cameras covering everything.

After we met up, I went to In-N-Out. We got on the freeway, and saw a cardboard village underneath, where 3 hobos were fist fighting. 2 other panhandlers were fighting for territory on Congress, and Stassney.
