I’m driving up to Vancouver from SoCal, I see that there is some snow along my route (Bend, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver).

Would these places start salting the roads this early in the season? I don’t have any coating/fluid film. Didn’t really think about it since this is mostly a pavement trip. But that’s where the salt is. Should I be fine to go through these places over the next 14 days without any fluid film or similar.

If not, I can go to Lowe's and buy the aerosol spray can version to use tomorrow.

So I know ODOT uses salt on I5 near the Cali border. Portland rarely uses it but it's just raining here. If you stay west of the cascades on I5 you'll be fine.

In the winter time I usually just rinse off my truck with the garden hose within a week of driving in possible salt.

We don't have any snow anywhere except up in the mountains right now. I've never seen them salt the freeway

You'll be fine west of the Cascades. Portland and Seattle doesn't have snow at this time and even if they did, Portland doesn't salt the roads.

You wont hit snow here in Seattle, it's a good hr away from here!! But you can head up and play in the snow, then get back on course :)

Just rinse your undercarriage well when you return home. 2 weeks on sometimes-salted roads isn’t going to turn into a rusting issue.

No snow in the Seattle area, but WSDoT has been dropping the urea solution on cold days. It is gummy and sucks a bit for riding a motorcycle. Thankfully, it doesn't seem to corrode anything and goes away with a good rinse. Either a car wash or just driving in the rain.
