Thinking about giving this a try. Every so often I forget to lock my doors and the other day someone rifled through my truck. Took a tire gauge and pepper spray (but left the bear spray?) Second time I’ve done this.

Nope, but I have the club bar. My neighbors BMW was stolen twice. The car parked in front of me last Saturday was also stolen.
My club bar on the other hand is a deterrent and visible from outside to any thief, that you have to work really hard to steal this truck, and it's almost impossible to drive my truck away with it on my steering wheel even if you break my windows and somehow hotwire/figure out a way to start engine w/o keyfob.
Carlock looks like a good product, but won't stop anyone from stealing your truck if they somehow manage to start your truck, and is also not a deterrent. This was my reasoning for not buying it.

I guess stealing vehicles without having the key fob is a thing now. If I lived in a high crime area I'd rig up a super secret ignition kill switch.

Sorry to hijack but speaking of theft...

This morning I rolled down window to smoke a cig and waited for store to open. Store opened, I shut off engine, Got out but left window down and door unlocked. Came back and door was locked. Huh?? So I re created the scene and same thing. So apparently, if you leave window down and get out after shutting engine off, your door will lock. In my opinion, that’s insane.

I’m definitely going the club route, but CarLock is another layer, not intended for theft prevention but just let me know if someone is pulling a door handle etc. of which there’s been a lot going on in my neighborhood the past year. No broken windows, just lots of rifling through unlocked vehicles.

I used to just leave my cars unlocked and make sure nothing valuable was left in them, to avoid a broken window. I’d occasionally find that someone had gone through the car but all I had to do was put the manual back in the glove box etc. but I dont want to go that route with this truck. Plus, maybe I’ll catch the culprit this way as he moves down the block trying door handles...

I think it locks only if your key fob is not within a certain distance of the vehicle. It locks on a timer . 60 seconds default I think.

The club may be tough to cut thru, but a hacksaw blade should melt right thru the steering wheel. Fwiw
By all means, the more the better. Just don't fool yourself about the club.

I’d agree but I have a regular key.

    Months later I’m seeing this.

This is actually a good feature imo. If someone reaches in and opens the door from the inside without the key in the ignition, the alarm will sound.
