Toyota already sells two trucks here. Good luck getting them to sell a 3rd.

Comes stock with 33s and can fit 35s stock if I understood what the Jeep rep was saying in the TFL video I just watched.

ZR2 and Trd Pro type buyers would be cross shopping this for sure I would think.

    Have you owned a Jeep?

I have both, a 2012 JKU and 2013 Tacoma, both V6. The Jeep is more powerful, has a better tuned 6-speed transmission (in mine) and is just as fuel efficient with proper gearing... that's with 40" tires and a Jeep weighing in at 6,000 lbs.

I can't wait to get get this thing

You don't think overlanders across the US are going to be clamoring for a truck with 1,500 lb payload, front and rear lockers and disconnectable sway bars?

The biggest market for the truck is the offroad overland market, the exact same offroad enthusiasts that were drawn to the Tacoma. It's going to be an incredible platform for building overland rigs.

I doubt if there are that many but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Personally, I think they will sell about 50K a year of these trucks. I think it will be a 50/50 mix of current jeep owners and other truck owners. The Ranger will sell more but most of their buyers are coming from F150. Al in all I think it will pull 50K a year away from Toyota. But, we don't know what Toyota is going to do lol. We will see.

Oh people will buy these up. I really wanted a 4x4 diesel manual truck. If it wasn’t a fiat, I’d jump ship.

Fun fact: more Tacomas are sold every month than the model Jeep this truck is derived from.

Sure thing, champ. Because destroying the interior of your vehicle is comparable to having an alternate body line on your truck.

Do you off-road with your windows down in your truck?... I don't mean slow rock crawling, but rather, beating down the trail kicking up dust. Not like you can just throw the doors back on the Jeep, like rolling up windows on your truck.

For the guys that continue to think that a Tacoma and a Wrangler are comparably priced - here's a lightly optioned Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. The price is just over $48K. My TRD OR DCSB stickered at $38K.

    https://www.jeep.com/build#/summary...UAQ,RC4,X9,PBM,24R,APA/filters/filterGroup3:1

When I cross-shopped vehicles, I was looking at a Wrangler Unlimited Sport. With just the power door lock/window/mirror option, automatic, and hardtop, that vehicle stickered at almost $38K without nav.
