Doing research on a mod im thinking about saw a wierd looking truck.
@EatSleepTacos do you have lockouts? If so how do you like them.

edit: Oh manual hubs? I don't have them.

 

Am thinking about manual hubs, but i dont like the idea of not being able to go to a salvage yard to get parts if i break down in the middle of nowhere. Sounds like custom hubs n axle stubs. I usually wheel in co, ur, mt. That would be a long tow while waiting on custom parts.

 

Could always carry some cheap napa cv axles and wheel bearing hub assemblies as spares that you cold rock for a bit.

 

Had bad luck with napa cv axles. On my sub they where 1/4 inch shorter. Ones on my 93 failed within a month. But propably should carry more parts.

 

Yeah but it'd only be in case of an emergency. I think that'd be just fine.

 

Dont know about Napa but Advanced Auto Parts could get you a new axel for $80 without the need for a core and lifetime warranty. That is using their random online codes and doing store pick up

 

May need to check them out. I dont have an acount with them, but if they do business good i may need to open an acount.

 

Make sure you carry an extra snapring with those CVs if they dont come with one... not that I found that out from experience
