Yeah, if OU wins their conference, they would have an argument that ND isn't a conference champion.

 

the "criteria" comes into play when teams have similar records, just fyi.

yeah I mean Power 5 undefeated...you're in.

if there's an undefeated from all Power 5....then they'd do the criteria for them.

similar = same. at least that's how the committee website reads to me.

 

And there we go...lol. So what would the committee do? Put in 1 Alabama, 2 Clemson, 3 Oklahoma, 4 Ohio State; sending the Irish packing? Haha

 

that's where it gets fishy, since Notre Dame isn't Power 5.

the committee doesn't require Power 5, but they look highly upon it, obviously.

Also, you can't go 12-1 before the playoffs without going 11-1 first. so 12-0 > 11-1.

 

unless you're Alabama...

UCF was undefeated last year and didn't get in. Undefeated so far this year and didn't get in.

Not Power 5.

 

yeah but Notre Dame has played Power 5 schools. UCF...hasn't, well maybe 1 or 2 trash ones.

 

So you're saying here that conference championships aren't in the picture as far as record goes, but for who wins the conference championship, that matters.

 

Same with ND.....jus sayin....lol.

 

I don't know really. Trust me, I'm not and never will defend Notre Dame. Put them in FCS for all I care.

I just know that we are currently pre-conference title games....and Notre Dame has an undefeated "almost Power 5" record. so that's why they're there.

 

ND at least played 4 ranked teams (at the time) that were all Power 5.

Did you all know that Alabama is the ONLY team that has wins against 4 top 25 teams?

 

I’d rather see the PAC 12 champion in the playoffs than ND or UCF. This will be sweet if ND is out.
