I wish I could like this post 1,000 times. People always bitch to me about their Powerstroke blowing head gaskets after they turn the boost up.

I'll stick to a reliable proven gas engine. I got no need to pull a house off it's foundation, once.

duramax are good engines, powerstroke fixed their issues after the 6.0 and 6.4

cummins are good, and they're the ones who kept the CP3 pump meaning less worry of dirty fuel.

they're all not worth getting because of emissions now.

Not entirely true for the 6.4 powerstroke.

You can turn up the old 7.3 Powerstrokes pretty good. They have twice the number of head bolts as the rest. Damn bean counters got us too.

Just thinking an offroader on 37's with tons of low end torque and still get in the mid to upper 20's in mpg

not a fan of old toyota diesels either. I like mercedes and VW engines though. light and powerful with awesome fuel consumption

I was speaking more towards the 6.0. The 7.3 was damn near bullet proof. They just liked to leak oil everywhere

International (Navistar) built all of the Powerstrokes up to the 6.7s. They built them in Huntsville. About 100 yards from my desk :D

if I've got an actual offroader on 37's, I'm not daily driving it.

    #1 that ain't comfy
    #2 tires ain't cheap
#3 I can get low end torque out of 4cylinders

Yeah. The head bolts were expensive so as a cost savings they decided to cut the number used in half on the 6.0. Now Ford builds their own diesels.
