Thanks, I reread the first post and still can not find a description or picture explaining exactly how the swivel arm vs static arm differ if they both mount to a ram ball, which allows for swiveling?

    Reread for "differences between kits"
    (Dmm and dsm)
    That's on first post..
But if you want the differences between arms I'd pm the op.

Or I could post the question like I did, so all could benefit from the explanation.

I agree. The original post doesn’t answer your question.

I just ordered the DSM and ball. I’d like to see if you found a good solution for attaching a magnetic mount to the swivel arm.

Ordered - I like the smaller version. Like others, I have no need for the full size one, this will be perfect.

There was a post by another member on one of the DMM threads where they used a Ram mount with a square base and a Scosche magnet attached to that.(I'll see if I can find it)

    I went with this solution:

    Motorcycle - 1" Ball Adaptor – Quad Lock® USA
    https://www.quadlockcase.com/products/1-ball-adaptor-motorcycle

    Hope this helps ...

    Cheers

I’m assuming you are referring to the static vs the swivel kit....
The difference is one piece, the part that connects the arm with the mount itself.
The swivel joint allows you to rotate the attached device 360 degrees without loosening the knob on the arm, as well as adjust the angle of the device slightly.
The static joint is rock solid as soon as you tighten the arm, in order to rotate the device or adjust the angle you must loosen the arm. This is a more solid mount but has that disadvantage, I use the swivel with my phone and static for my tablet.

I’m not going to sell a shitty version...
it takes time to design a good one. No release date info yet buuuut... USB A will be released first.
