Personal I think the 5000k is a perfect match to the DRL. I went with 5000k and it’s a perfect pure white light, not even as blue as a factory HIDs. If you look at the projectors at an angle, they do have a blueish tint just like factory HIDs.

I ordered a XenonDepot kit that should get here Friday. Does anyone remember what size drill bit they needed to open up the mounting holes on their ballast to use the stock grounding points as mounts? I’m going to be doing the install inside at work so I’d like to be prepared.

I’m sure this has been covered but I wanted to clarify for anyone attempting this install. I read an earlier thread about someone actually going to the lengths of depinning their factory headlight connector, stuffing the leads into the relay harness connector, then wrapped everything with electrical tape to make it work!... lol!... wow! Because of this, I figured it was worth repeating. This is plug-n-play!, no depinning of connectors necessary haha.

When you take the bulbs out of the box, you will see a circular black rubber grommet attached to the wire leads that has 4 wires passing through it(circled in green in picture I attached). 2 of the wires are the positive and negative for the bulb, and the other 2 wires belong to an adapter harness (pictured below). Cut the wires free from the grommet and throw the grommet in the trash, be careful not to damage the wires while doing so. These adapter harnesses are used to go from the factory headlight plug to the Diode Dynamics relay harness. The factory headlight plug will look like it plugs directly into the Diode Dynamics relay harness, but it won’t work without the adapter harness.

Each bulb comes with an adapter harness but only one is needed to complete this job. I’d recommend plugging the other one into the unused passenger side headlight plug to keep it from corroding.

Hey would you be able to post a pic of your lights on. I’m debating on getting the 4300 or the 5000. I would highly appreciate it

I’ll try and get some better pictures for you but those I had at the ready. In my opinion the 5000k is a perfect color match to the LED DRL. If you look directly into the projector it’s a pure white light, if you look at the projector lens at an angle it has a bluish tint due to the white light being refracted.

My XenonDepot kit was $166 shipped to Alaska. Usually I don’t like having to pay for UPS shipping to AK since it’s the most expensive option, but it’s supposed to arrive tomorrow so I’ll deal with $30 shipping. Since I plan on hooking it up directly to the headlight the relays are nice bonus for me that I’ll end up using on a set of driving lights.

There are other kits that are cheaper but all of them require me having a relay harness which makes them almost to wash in price.

It’s $85-$95 for the eBay kit, it’s $120 with the 20% savings for the Diode Dynamics kit.

One of these options comes in 3 days from a US based company that stands behind it if there’s a problem.

The other option may or may not come from a seller that doesn’t communicate. If it does come, it’s atleast a 3 week wait and if there’s a problem, good luck getting it resolved.

It blows my mind that someone will take the risk and wait that amount of time to save a whopping $25.

I just want to do the RX350 projector mod so I can be done even thinking about headlights. Better than OEM quality and light output mixed with quad high beams, definitely on my to do list!

Pictures from a cell phone don’t really come across accurately but here’s an attempt. This is 5000k. I find pictures at night tend to just be blown out and don’t come across well at all.

I can’t say how the 4300k look since I don’t have them, but as you can see the color matches the DRL’s very well. Just like the DRL’s, at an angle they look more white and straight on they show some more blue.

I just ended up getting the 4300k. What fog lights are you running?

I’m sure you’ll be happy with them! 4300k is supposedly the highest lumen number. I’m running Philips X-treme Ultinon LED bulbs. I wanted similar color to headlights for uniform colored light. I didn’t want an LED bulb with a fan either, I think the cooling fan will fail very quickly with NY winters. I tried cheap Auxbeam and Hikari LED bulbs from Amazon but the pattern was HORRIBLE. The Philips produce a very similar beam pattern to the standard halogen bulbs but much brighter, I’m very happy with them. They’re rated at 6500k but appear less blue than the Amazon bulbs which were rated at 6000k.

Ended up going the safe route and purchased from diode dynamics and bought the relay harness. Payed like 25 bucks more than I would through eBay but I think it’s worth it.

Definitely worth it. You’ll have everything in 3 days rather than 30, and you can pick up the phone and call them if there’s a problem... plus they offer a 3 year warranty. IMO it’s a no brainer.
