At least you don't have earthquakes, lol. Unless you live up near Oklahoma with all the fracking they're doing

I remember we were driving from TX to OK as a family when I was a kid to see my grandparents in Missouri...we stopped at a diner somewhere along the highway in Oklahoma and there was a storm on our tail. A few minutes after we got our food the restaurant workers evacuated everyone and told us to get in our cars and drive north, there was a tornado coming up the highway right in the direction of the restaurant. That was fun

Tornadoes are one thing I don’t want to deal with but we don’t get them often , Utah’s got a pretty nice fault line so I’m eff’d there.

You guys don't get many earthquakes though do you? I don't really hear about them happening in Utah...seems like it's been pretty dormant for awhile. But fault lines never sleep forever. Or maybe they do. That's a question for @jbrandt

Most of the East Bay Area is on the Hayward Fault line. My old High School, in fact, was directly on top of it. We're long due for a big quake, it's just a matter of time.

There's a curb in my hometown that runs parallel with the fault line - USGS uses it as reference.

I don’t think we’ve had a major quake for a long time, hundreds of years, but we have had a few littles

Never fails the first day it rains. Roads are slick & people don't know how to drive, well most.

Fwy near me closed in one direction.

    CHATSWORTH, LOS ANGELES (KABC) --
A semi-truck hauling 20,000 pounds of beverages ended up jackknifed after a Thursday morning crash that closed the westbound 118 Freeway in Topanga.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened about 4 a.m. just west of Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Westbound traffic was being diverted onto that street as a SigAlert was issued.

The KO2's I have are shit in the rain. It slips and slides everywhere you go. Even turning or taking off from a stoplight.

Maybe it's just me. It's especially bad when I'm on a freeway on ramp. You hit the gas to accelerate, and they skid in place for a second.

Could also be because of the light rear end.

I was expecting the same from my ST Maxx but to my surprise they did really well. Maybe the skinny tires made it easier to cut through the deep water lol

I haven't experienced that with KO2s in the rain/wet, not yet anyway. The old KOs though yes, exactly as you described.

You're not supposed to use 4HI in the rain, right? I always wondered about that.

yeah a light rear end will do that no matter what tires you have on there. I have the RTT and bed rack which helps a lot, it's at least a couple hundred pounds

Maybe I'll throw some sandbags back there while it's raining for more traction.

I did but only because the water was pooled up so deep on the roadsides that the truck wanted to sway to the side. I just slowed down and put it in 4hi for the mostly straight shot into work until I got to higher ground where the water wasn't pooled up anymore.

I searched a lot on this topic when I first had 4WD, and I could never find a definitive answer.

But for just everyday freeway and city driving in rain you shouldn't do it?

That’s the going rate for food at a chain restaurant. Food ranges from $7-30. Average entree dish is about $15-20.
