Yes it does. The email was a response to a request for the V2 cal file that I sent back in August. We will see.

My initial thoughts after the 91 Octane OVtune on my Magnuson with the BD tune, 2.85 pulley, Afe CAI and TRD catback exhaust is that The truck is responding very well to it. IM feeling a much more linear throttle response and the "Laggy" spots in the power curve has been eliminated. Everything feels very smooth and Im pretty happy. Im excited to see how it performs on the highway and in different driving situations. Thanks @OVTune !

I'm out, this product should have been tested and further development before stringing the release out for a year!
And it still doesn't seem to be ready yet. ..

Our V1 calibrations were developed on a dyno.. and not strung out for a year.

The V2 calibration is a free update to it.. The only delay there has been is regarding V2, and 2 N/A calibrations.

The N/A calibration issues is not even our fault and beyond our control.

I’m too simple of a guy, trying to tune my truck with a laptop (which I don’t even have) is way over my head.......I need the simplicity of a handheld which you guys don’t do anymore.....

I thought if I had a handheld, once I plugged it into the ecu to read my truck I’d then plug it into my hard drive into my computer to download the file there.

I’m not very savvy with computers...I’m under the impression that now you’d need the laptop along there with you next to you with the vehicle as your tuning it...

Running on minimal sleep, you are correct. I thought you were thinking that with the handheld you didn't need a computer at all.

Handheld is available right now on his website. This is the steps you would follow once you get yours:
Open box, plug handheld into your pc. Download and open ovtune’s software. It will take some time updating the handheld to the latest versions. Once done unplug handheld.

Go to your truck and plug in the handheld into the obd2 port. Switch trucks key to On. Handheld will power up, Go to Tuning, Toyota, Tacoma, it will have motor specs hit next. It will scan and tell you it needs to read the stock ecu files first time, click yes. Once it’s finished unplug it from the truck, then go back to your computer.

Plug handheld back into pc with the ovtune software open, go to save files. Save the file to your desktop, then send ovtune an email. He will then send you your tune, you will download that to your pc. Open ovtune software and select upload files. Select the file you saved from ovtune. Once that is done, go back to truck.

Plug in ovtune handheld to obd2, turn key to On. Select tuning on the handheld, and then there will be different tunes to select. Find the one you want to use, select it then it should promt you to make sure you do not sure the truck off while flashing, hit ok. Let it do it’s thing, and once it is done you are good to go.

That all seems logical to me. What's the deal with the next generation and no handheld? Is it computer only? Do I need a shop to tune the vehicle like Haltech or something? I only see the handheld on the website.

So the handheld works fine for supercharged trucks. I think the handheld does not work for a few select NA ecu calibrations, which is why ovtune is moving more towards the flash kit. The flash kit requires a computer to be near your truck to tune it. So if you didnt have a laptop you would have to setup your desktop in your garage or something. I think but am not 100% sure but certain shops may purchase ovtune’s flash kit, and a “master license” which would let them tune all calibrations. The flash kit is still a tune by ovtune, you don’t have a shop make your tune they just flash the ovtune. Hope that makes sense!
