ESPN just happened to start televising National Signing Day around the same time Saban came to Bama also though. Not saying you, but I'm sure according to some in here, that's Saban's fault too.

I don't think anybody blames any of it on Saban.

Saban is a fantastic coach and recruiter. Love or hate Alabama, that’s indisputable. He took over a floundering program and transformed it nearly immediately.

There are a ton of folks in WV that seem to think he’ll come back here to coach. They’re idiots. He won’t, he has no ties to WVU even if he did grow up down the road. He’s a damn legend down there and will never leave.

    Absolutely. No debate.

But to claim no doubt he out-works everyone and doesn't get any help from the media exposure and praise is asinine.

For the player he signs, or any other coach that signs a player is proof that that coached worked harder for them to sign with their team than other coaches did. That's kinda the basis of recruiting.

or that the kid had outside influences, be it media/family/friends/money anything that motivated him to go there.

it does not always mean the coach worked harder.

That's true. But I would say its close to 90% recruiting 10% media influence for these kids to go to certain schools. Maybe even closer to 95%>5%

Getting help from media exposure / love from ESPN...it's all part of it. He goes on GameDay, etc. because it's good for recruiting.

You're dang right it helps, and he knows it.

Bingo. It’s part of outworking. The guy lives and breathes football, and it just happens to be Alabama football.

If they win their games, they’ll make the playoffs. Tell me one team from the PAC that looks like it could compete with anyone in the top 6.

I bet Wazzu could put numbers up on OSU. I think it'd be a shootout, might score more than A&M/LSU in only 4 quarters.

They could put up points on OU and OSU. Doesn’t mean they’d win. Wazzu was a nice story for a while. I like the pirate. But they’re not in the conversation of the top teams.

Doesn't mean they'd lose either, though.
