I’d take the top 6 over WSU 99 times out of 100. And I hate OSU. And OU, really.

I don't disagree, was just saying they could in fact compete...high offense no defense just like OU.

    I don't think about them 365, I hate them 365. Big difference.

Playing on the field will answer all the questions, no one can eye-test two teams and determine the winner. Bama eye-tested Hugh Freeze and lost twice to a lesser team. Texas A&M showed up with Manziel and what? Won at Bama. But the eye-test never ever considered Bama losing.

I don’t know which teams in the Pac12 (or any other conf) could compete, and that’s why at least the conference champion gets a playoff seat.

What if I told you that osu had statistically worse defense than ok and could provide mathematical proof to back up such a claim?

Well, this stemmed from your phones background...the last thing I’d want to see in my truck, house or office is my rival.

Auburn needs to pony up the cash, Freeze is talking to the Vols...SECE will change if he’s OC at Rocky Top.

    :rofl::thumbsup:

I don’t like em either, but whatever makes you sleep better at night.

I’m rooting for OU to make the playoff, but I’ll die laughing if they lose this weekend. I really don’t want OSU to make it and the biggest slime ball in college sports still coaching (not that UL cleaned housw..) yet a chance at another title.

You asked who Alabama played out of the Western Conference that compared to anyone in the first four. (By asking this, you are insinuating that MSU playing KState was a good OOC opponent, compared to Alabama's OOC[D] opponents.) Mizzou and UT are at a minimum the same, not taking into consideration SoS. The Citadel and Arkansas State were charity games that most P5 teams schedule to help fund their programs. Not many Alabama fans like playing them, or watching those games. (Generalization, I know but, that is a common thread in all of sports.)

The narrative this year has been that Alabama "doesn't play anyone decent" all year. In all reality, people have been saying that for a few years now, even though EVERY TEAM HAS CUPCAKES ON THE SCHEDULE. Also, we've known this since LAST YEAR after the schedule was finalized....

Yes, the SoR of Alabama's opponents is down (not Alabama's fault) and the OOC opponents that were scheduled years ago (that didn't back out) like Louisville and FSU, have fallen off (again, not Alabama's fault). Alabama has scrambled late in recent years to fill their schedule.

Truth of the matter is, as the season played out, Alabama ended up playing teams that faired better than originally thought. Typically, the teams in the SEC(W) could count on the SEC(W) opponents being higher ranked and stronger opponents. This isn't the case anymore, unfortunately. Historically, Alabama has tried to open the season with a fairly high ranked OOC team. Once Alabama beat them though, it still wasn't good enough for the arm chair analysts.

Basically, Alabama (or whomever wins the NC game) should wipe their schedule clean for the next year and play only top 10 opponents, I guess. If this happens with Alabama, I suppose UT will have to be the cupcake on the schedule from now until Pruitt gets it turned around.

You have to keep the hate simmering or it may lose some of its heat.

My only fear in life is that I may die in Oklahoma. And the nature of my job has me up there much too often.

I think AU has a huge....HUGE contract for Gus, I think they just renegotiated it last year or the year before. They could pony up the cash for Freeze, he's probably pretty cheap considering all the negative surrounding his exit. Its cashing out Gus that AU probably can't justify.

I wouldn’t change anything for anybody, y’all show every year the regular season is just boring no matter who Bama plays. The SECC and playoffs are the only challenges the Tide faces.

    Enjoy it!

Well that guy took the video down and uploaded an apology. Apparently he had some calculation issues with osu in excel which errored in favor of ok... Sg1 sports is the channel. Tldr is basically the new numbers would have osu give up 409 yards on the avg offense and ok would give up 431 based on what they gave up compared to what offense they played and then transposed to the national avg. (I think the national avg defense gives up ~397 yards for reference)

Lol this got me. I grew up on the Ohio River and we always joked that property value in Ohio is higher because they get to look at West Virginia.

Saban will be gone sooner rather than later. I'd assume that the program will hold at a competitive rate for a while and then free-fall. (This of course, depending on the effectiveness of the next HC.)
