Yes. Larger tire sizes require less revolutions to go the same distance. Speedometer/odometer measure the revolutions of the tire, so when you increase the circumference you are actually gong farther/faster than before.

Thanks for the info! Looks like my truck actually has somewhere in the range of 95,000-96,000 miles, even thought the odometer is presently showing 90,139 miles.

Only if you SOMETIMES run stock size tire and other times run a larger tire?
    I kid

    Extra stops for food/gas/groceries?
You sure your not starting out at xxxxxx.8 miles?
That may account for your miniscule extra mileage?
Same route to and from each time?

    1 mile is nothing

It may depend on each individual truck. I think the factory original setup is off a little since so many people go with taller tires. I have 305/65/17 tires which are close to 33" tall and just about every speed trap I hit, my speedometer is pretty much dead on with the speed trap display. I don't know if the previous owner had anything done to correct it (if that's even possible with the stock Toyota computer). So I would guess you are off a little, but maybe not as much as the calculator shows.

Your speedo will be off if bigger tires
If you go up 5 sizes let's say than your speedo will read 60 but your going 66ish

Other way around is smaller. My buddy had 13 inch Daytons (dont ask me why) his speedo would read 80 and we were running 65ish

Maybe my truck is more accurate with the 16-inchers? For example, when I pass a sign on the turnpike saying an exit is a mile away, my truck has one more mile on it when I get to the exit...

Yes. check it against that and try a GPS on it also.
You could always break out a tape measure or maybe fit bit?

GPS is pretty accurate. So is a cop with radar.

What do you use to power your Tacoma to the required 1.21 gigawatts? Plutonium or garbage? I once saw a 3 part documentary that demonstrated the difference. They also tried a steam powered train as well.

Ok, tire sizes effect mph/miles driven yes.
As tires wear they will also change the mileage driven/read to a small extent

But your saying your drives equal 10miles sometimes and 11 miles other times. That is not because of you having larger tires unless like I said earlier, you flip flop tire sizes multiple times a week.

If your tire size remains constant, then look for other variables as I posted earlier.
A 12" ruler is always a 12" ruler.... A 32" tire is always a 32" tire within tread depth wear variables (do the math if u want, but sounds like a pita for such a trivial question).

When you leave your house the milage in your head (or google maps) starts from 0 but that doesn't mean the odo starts from "zero". the odometer may already be halfway or 3/4 through the next mile when you get in to leave. Next time you leave your house watch the odo for the first time it steps up. If it takes a few minutes to step to the next mile it may appear be 10 total for the trip. If you leave the house and it steps up quickly, like backing down the driveway, then you'll likely see a 11 mile trip. Make sense?

Fords have odometers that read the 10ths of a mile in between miles (like xxx,xxx.00) Put the odo on trip and leave it there for a week, you'll see what I mean
