    The seal conditioners as well as the Moly in the M-1 HM are certainly worth the extra cost. I use the D3 filter. There is just SO MUCH media in the Toyota filters as compared with all the others out there for these trucks and you cannot beat the price. Probably the most important part is the anti-drain back valve on your filter due to the orientation of our filters. If you get start-up noise then the filter isn't holding oil so cross that brand off your list. Toyota does use the cheaper nitrile type, but, I've never had one leak down.

    I usually find a special at autozone for about 26$ for 5qts of vavoline high mileage and a stp filter, and change about every 4-5k

    Change it. That's all you have to do! lol and go with the manufacturers weight recommendation.
