Selling my taco and taking the SC and meth off of it but I'll keep y'all in the loop of how the meth works for my new project. 87 300ZX turbo, gonna be pushing about 22psi from a modified Holset HX35. Get this 3.0L bitch to 450hp real fast

Nice! I love them all. Always thought Nissan was on par with Toyota as far as quality but just more ambitious in their design and engine output. Toyota draws up a 1.8L and says it'll make 165hp and 172ft lb and Nissan goes, well shit if this 1.8 isn't making over 220hp are we even a car company haha. Your Z a TT or NA?

I agree. I'd say Toyota is my brand but the 300ZX is my car. 2nd gen is awesome once you fix all the issues with reliability from the original design. The motors are very solid though. I have a turbocharged NA engine in mine actually. Makes 370whp at 13psi on pump fuel. I got a race fuel tune too at 500whp, but that's a little cost prohibitive at $6 a litre. Looking into converting to e98. What fuel do you use?

This is my second Z31 that I've really done any work to. It's also a NA2T. Daily tune is on 93, and I'll have a meth tune since race fuel and E85/98 just aren't available around my neck of the woods. On the last Z with the same setup and 800cc injectors I topped out at 433rwhp on the 93. This go around I expect the meth will help a lot, really cleaned up the tacos timing map which is where I'm expecting to find the most gains with this Z, but if it all seems okay I'll go for more boost too. What's the point of having 13 head bolts if you can't just keep feeding it pressure haha. My buddy who has the last Z I worked on now has pushed that car to 564hp on e85 and is now looking for a larger turbo and megasquirt because he reached the limit for Nistune. Here's the most recent Dyno from that haha.

Living in Canada we have access to endless blue -40 washer fluid. Methanol content on the labels suggests 45-50 meth/50-55 water. They go on sale at Home Depot or Rona at $1.77-2.30CDN P/Gal very often. Why use boost juice or mix your own if it’s so readily available and cheap. Am I missing something?

I have wondered that myself but never investigated it yet. Definitely the way to go if it fits the bill!

I’ve done quite abit of research on it and the consensus is there are no issues as long as it’s not pink and is the -20 to -40 blue stuff. Waiting til spring to install the meth kit so no first hand experience yet. I’m almost too impatient and want to get the kit on now but there iust snow and ice outside so there’s no point in trying to kill myself.

I'm feeling the same way about gearing up lol. Was wondering about the color too, good to know that pink is bad...

Stoked that this will be cheap as hell if we can use washer fluid easily

I think the pink stuff has some glycol in it.

Any other color other than smurf piss is very likely to have glycol and detergents which won’t exactly blow your motor but will burn white, mimicking a blown head gasket and could cause build up in your system.
Also any color other than blue is usually rated for summer temps which won’t have the methanol content you are looking for anyways.

That looks awesome. What platform did you use to tune the timing for the Tacoma? I'm hoping to get Scott to remote in next time I'm at the dyno and add some more timing in since I run enough water/methanol to kill a small horse.

433 for an NA-turbo is pretty awesome. What's the compression ratio? Even on 94 I couldn't get past 400 but I'm pretty limited by that 10.5:1. Here's the dyno. The red line was the final numbers when tuned.
