i'm MT over here so not a great comparison to make, but i had fairly weak and somewhat inconsistent throttle response in the first 1/4 or so of pedal travel. it got less each release through 1.04 for me, and it was totally resolved in 1.05... but that's on my truck.

I had this with 1.04 and (to a slightly lesser extent) 1.04r. At times it would soften but would eventually come back. Feels like a weird engagement of the TC or something. Likely will be fully addressed in 1.05.

Yes I run both the tune and the Meso always-on mod. The 1.04r itself is nice but the tune with the ECT takes it to another level. The mapping with ECT on is definitely more aggressive and keeps the motor in it's power band.

upload_2018-11-29_15-3-54.jpg so I just need another one of these hex files with the 1.04R_91 ? I wonder what would happen if I just re flash it now with this version . Will the TSB from Toyota be erased if I only flash the ECU ?

The keys needed to write the tune have changed and so it would be unable to write it. Its not worth testing the waters. Mat will respond to your email for 1.04R. Just wait :)

It’s drive line lash and it is excessive on these trucks.
Toyota’s tolerances have dropped over the years.

    I don't think you deserve a tune.

Why wouldn't the tune simply account for such a boost and add whatever changes ECT PWR makes into the tune itself? Why can't the tuner simply eliminate the necessity of the ECT PWR button altogether?

That's where my confusion lies. If someone could provide a good reason for not adding the ECT PWR effects to the tune itself, I'd really feel better about all this stuff...:D.

All ECT PWR does is hold gears in higher rpms so the truck spends more time where it makes the most power.

It can be done, mat has mentioned some changes to ect pwr in the upcoming release.
