So this is where our constitution both states constitutions and the national constitution comes into affect somewhat.

We do not have to have a permit to carry a gun openly any gun long gun or pistol. But if you want to conceal ie tuck it under a shirt you need a concealed pistol permit. I know it doesn't make any sense and that is one of our arguments in trying to get what is called constitutional carry where we don't need any permits to buy or carry. It's very hard for you to understand our gun laws because like I mentioned before each state is different and in some cases jurisdiction like New York city vs the rest of the state. Us trying to understand your gun laws and not knowing any background or basis from your countries founding is hard for us as well.

And when I say carry yes they are loaded hot. Meaning ready to fire safety on if so equiped but one is in the chamber.

I have used my gun in a self defense scenario. Thankfully all it took was me drawing mine for the altercation to stop. I hope to never have to use it on a human ever. That is the last thing I want to happen I would rather descalate the situation than for it to get that far.

Every state has its on laws as skip mentioned. I hold a Virginia concealed carry permit and about 35 other states recognize that permit, meaning I can legally carry my gun there. Maryland doesn’t recognize it, therefore it’s illegal for me to carry here.

I've been in a similar situation and honestly, that's what it is there for...not to shoot, but to de-escalate.

I try to talk down or remove myself first before anything even gets that far. But this one went south quickly. Apparently this kid was getting jumped into a gang and his test was to rob someone. Poor kid picked the wrong person that night. And I mean kid he was like 13-14 yrs old.

Md is the only state I've been in that searched my vehicle for a firearm, stating my cc permit was "reasonable suspicion"
