Whoa. That is SIGNIFICANTLY more. Over the OE style unit.

Sort of makes me wish I measured mine to see if there was a difference between stock and my own. The Roush is clearly a HD unit and much higher quality over OE design.

Was that fresh fuel or post fuel that was pulled from the tank?

    Either way. Lovely.

Those 2.3 TVS's provide the FJ's with a 70HP increase over stock. DVVTi engines come with 275HP if I remember correctly. 345HP total. Drop that to 289.2 HP by the time you factor in parasitic drivetrain loss. And that's factoring in 15% not 16%.

I'll stick to my 360-370 WHP slow pig.. too much cost for not enough power benefit ratio there.

It just builds more power at lower boost levels because it is more efficient and because it has a larger displacement. So slapping one of those would make your engine equal to a 6.3. If you keep the stock pulley which is rated for 6lbs that puts you at 70HP over 236.. 306 HP.

As far as I'm concerned I'm making more power than a 6.0 LS2 at its stock level, and this blower only makes me equal to a 5.4 and I am still CARB certified for California (technically) hell I'm happy with that!

Will there be photos and a step by step process written for tweaking the tensioner race? Or is it simple to figure out? Great job on the torque test @Roostfactor!

Side note aside from the 2.3 Whipple.. that Roush tensioner will provide plenty of tension to the belt which translates to more stability of boost while in boost. This is great news for the manual guys, as the tensioner has less chance of jumping around while shifting gears or making spirited runs.

Once you guys start modifying those tensioners to fit our serpentine setups correctly they will never fail you again. :)

Make sure you put something in there for sure, as I previously mentioned in an earlier post through just a very brief and dirty search that I found that idler pulley bearing inner races were failing on tensioners most likely due to that very same reason under normal operating circumstances. The fact there is significantly more spring pressure will apply additional strain on the bearing if not fully supported all the way through at the inner race.

Will a detailed example be on page 1 sometime?

I hesitate to give a precise number for a number of reasons, but I've added it to the list of things to check and replace every 30,000 miles. Might be overboard but

    1. Considering how important fuel supply and quality is for our applications, and

    2. Knowing how gasoline quality can fluctuate due to uncertain transportation and storage conditions

I settled on 30,000 mi as a personal metric for replacement.

    Ew. That's gnarly.

I like how you used a glass kitchen cup and not a disposable bottle.

I can put one on there if you'd like. Of what exactly though the failing bearing inner races or the tensioner sleeve modification, because remember my unit is very different from the ones you guys will be running with the Roush so modding to the unit was a little different to achieve the same end goal in mind.

idk where youre getting 70hp? specifically states its worth 133hp on the 4runner that its listed for. should be a similar gain on the tacoma minus some for the vvti then throw on a smaller pulley. it will always outpower the mp90 with similar mods.Screenshot_20181129-234005.jpg
it is better. its the newest supercharger technology. itll make more power than the mp90 is capable of
