Did read it. Still reads as if you were just disagreeing that they'll fit with an arb bumper. But if that's what you means it's cleared up now.

Regardless. His comment was that with a grinder and pounding, which you have to do anyways to make 35s fit, you can stuff 35's in there. And may not even need to touch the bumper at all. I tagged the owner so maybe we can find out.

Either way. I digress. Not about 35s. Back to chat about the boat anchor in front of OP's truck ;)

Arb is the best you can get. I have had one on my LC for 18 years. Can't imagine another option.NAESHEEP (1).jpg

I agree. Love the stout look, and the fact that ARB is tested with airbag systems.

You're paying ~$35,000+ for a truck that you have to cut and trim to fit 35s, but you don't want to trim a bumper?

No one else has the funding to crash test. And every bumper in Australia has to pass crash test to be road legal

I agree either way . They're one of the strongest on the market and attention to detail.

Not the best looking to me but best performing and I'm sorry to say I don't personally think you do much of this stuff for looks unless you like the look of function over form.

I personally think snorkels are ugly but hey I still have one because it's peace of mind for some of the water crossings . Sure the guys I go with don't all have but hey they need to worry a lot more .And I've seen hydrolock on the same crossings I do .

My truck will have that Aussie touring look sure. Whether you think they look good is a matter of opinion to everyone. No different how many hate the front grill while others love it.

It’s hard to look away, I want to say it's ugly, but just in case it's a tumor I won't say anything.

I personally like the of the ARB bumper on a 3rd gen. Mainly because no one else makes a bumper that looks like it stands a chance of keeping a deer out of my grill/headlights.

Has anyone else with an ARB on a 3rd gen have all the issues OP had?

ARB makes great products. Personally I wouldn't buy that bumper, but I do have their Air Lockers and they work everytime.

The ARB bumper may be crash tested or approved; but I think it's hideous. I have been running plate non-crashed tested bumpers for over 12 years on different vehicles. Hell, 20 years ago we made our own brackets and welded an I-beam to it.

Today there are much better options out there that have survived heavy impacts and helped save the driver.

Saying you will never buy another ARB product because it didn't bolt right up to your truck is just plain dumb. There are many other vehicles that their products fit flawlessly and have held up to the rugged downunder for decades.

Maybe I won't buy another Toyota because the Sony headunit I bought didn't bolt right into the dash.

Good luck with your truck and your new ARB bumper. Done.

Maybe I am not done with this yet. This doesn't bolt right in either, you have to drill a hole for the airline. Should I have not installed it? It's just the way it is. We make modifications to our trucks so they perform better where we want to go. One day you will use that beast of a bumper, it may even save your life. Good luck and enjoy it. You made it work.

Everyone has a different experience. I love my ARB on my 2nd gen. Think its probably the strongest on the market, plus looks real good (edit: way better than the 3rd gen version :boink:). I do admit that their instructions were a bit vague, AND you're absolutely right about drilling the last two holes. Even with a 90 degree drill I had to go in at an angle and it was all F*ed up looking. That one aspect is a piss poor design..

Serious question...could you have marked where the holes needed to be drilled, removed the bumper, drilled, then re-mounted? Would that have provided enough room to drill “properly”?
