I have a seriously built Street Glide in garage....

dont forget to remove the secondary air filter....you may see a small gain and better throttle response, and topped with the afe pro dry s....you should have a decent mileage gain also.

does the v6 gain anything from the 2nd filter removal or not?... I know a CAI is great...for high rpm riding oopps driving...
has anyone removed the 2nd cat?
oh and thanks dude for input....love opinions BEFORE I reach for the wallet!!

the v6 has a small gain from the secondary filter removal, but mainly is a bit better throttle response, and better idle as far as im concerned. i'd skip on the cai.......you can lose bottom end, which if you tow anything, isnt too good. just removing the sec. filter and a good drop in is the best bang for the buck, but thats just my opinion. some people have removed the second set of cats and ran straight piping in the place of them. not sure of any gains, but i guarantee you the truck breathes a little easier.

been contemplating growing up and selling harley...

well lets say selling Harley and getting a kawasaki zrx 1200 and will have some extra $$ after Harley sale...thats growing up isnt it?

My Harley buddies go for a ride...bs...its a barhopping look at my bike crowing festival....over it.
    anyway...back to the subject....

the s/c uses its own intake or a trd one? have to do an exhaust also?
Thinking this is 5k before I am done...hmmmm...drop in afe and remove that cat.....
    sell harley in mean time...
scoot huh??? so like it would be a sleeper? runner or rocket?

anyone got 26,000 for a sleeper harley?? LOL

after looking into trd s/c's I am sticking to original plans...

    1) afe drop in pro-s/ maybe 2nd filter MIA

    2) the guys who did my other trucks exhausts...

    a) custom made magna flo catback(18") for $200, welded, not stainless....wondering about losing bottom end tq????

    b) keep stock pipes and just do magnaflo?

where is the 2nd cat? driverside under passenger feet??

The goal is mpg, keep low end and not being a high pitched rice burner...tooooooo old for that sound. Will stay stock before I do that!!!

so will a catback hurt tq?
will just a muffler help at all?
will the sound be deep or high pitched?
    Thanks

You can look into getting the URD y pipe to remove the 2nd pair of cats. www.urdusa.com

is it fair to say the following?

aside from a drop in afe pro-s or K+N there really are not any mods that increase MPG ??
Seems these exhausts (mufflers and systems) just change sound and or add high end HP.
Just been researching this site and the web....
would love actual proof of increased mpg on exhaust mods.
    Thanks

probably. The best thing for your gas mileage is airing up your tires, keeping the stock tire size, no AC, and driving like a grandma.

    driving like a grandma...
when I was 16 I had to follow my 80 yr old grandpa theru Darien Conn. ( the woods, windy roads) He had a VW bug...I was in a 327 chevy...LMAO...he was flying...75-80 mph everywhere...dusted me...
I miss that crazy, fun Irish man!

The sound is not even an issue for me on exhaust systems. I put foot in it when I have/want to. If I could get 17/21 mpg...awesome. I prefer the sleeper sound anyday also.
    Look stock, sound stock....smoke em!

I get about 17/21 when I run premium with no AC. Regular gives me about 20.
