I will have to say I am really happy with the system. I have no doubt others will too. I am sure people are wondering who is driving by and boom it's a Tacoma. It does stand out in a crowd. You can feel the torque difference and the unique sound is almost raptor-like (v6 not v8:(). I always feel like I am :muscleflexing: when I drive by. Another thought, when flooring it I used to get the engine noise now I hear the exhaust. To me, this is a good thing.

This is a true exhaust system and I am glad to have met @dirtydeeds and one day meet @KTJO 4x4 and thank her for the intro.

I’m glad you really like it and your family. It definitely makes you want to floor it more for sure. We will definitely have to meet up sometime. I’m not sure when, but I do want to plan a trip to Death Valley.

I got the 12x5 muffler and as for drone, there is none. You here the exhaust but it's outside the cabin at the rear of the truck. I am sure the other muffler options will help with the noise level. Also, I have the resonator. This stops the drone as the frequency was taken out that causes the drone. I am no expert so maybe @dirtydeeds can explain it better.

Yeah..not a fan of that sound but imagine other setups may be quite different, its just figuring out what combination gets the sound you like.

C89EAFE4-662E-4FC8-BEB1-461832AA392B.jpg Got my Dirty Deeds exhaust set up yesterday and did some muffler testing for Keith. My truck is a 2018 ORDC &AT. The system in my truck— besides the muffler —consists of DD y-pipe,equal length mods, muffler and resonator. Please note that all tests were done with resonator installed and no rear cats.
The first test was done with straight pipes .Resonator was not installed at first due to error and the truck sounded like a stock car upon starting. Installing the resonator lessened the tone by about half and took away the biggest part of the drone but it was still extremely loud.Hardly no drone though.
Second test was with 12x5 BAmuffler. This was the one New4x4 chose and recorded above. This one was closest to the DD muffler already on my truck which made a deep, throaty sound. The difference was the resonator which I didn’t have before. What that did was mellow out the tone and make it softer and smoother. No drone. This is the one I chose. If you listen to the sound byte in an earlier post that is with the resonator also. I like to hear my truck go down the road.
Third test was with the 16x5 muffler. As they get longer the tone will be reduced. So this one was about 60% as loud as the 12x5. It had a humming sound that was not very evident unless you accelerated and then you could hear it pretty well. All the guys at DD really liked this one. It was pretty mello. No drone.
The last test was done with 20x5. This was what I felt was more like the stock sound. We could barely tell the truck was running but when accelerating it made a real satisfying sound which wasn’t loud enough for me but was Keith’s favorite.
Please remember that these are very subjective feelings and others may feel differently. These were a general consensus of opinion between all present. Keith thought the one I picked was a little loud for his liking.
After Install I drove the truck about 100mi home. Also let me add here that Keith does not baby the test trucks. We spent time speeding on dirt roads, washboard, and over ruts. He was continually on the accelerator pedal on pavement.Regarding performance I will only make general opinions. Again remember I am not an expert. I felt a significant increase in performance especially in the lower rpms. The truck launched from a standing start-and even with that crappy shift my truck has between 1 &2 it was really pulling through 3,4 and 5. I had never felt it to that degree before. Seemed to run smoother and with less effort. Ran markedly better on the freeway. These are just what I felt and we all know how different all of these trucks are. I should mention that I am running 1.04 tune on 91 octane fuel and 32’s with PC.Let me also add that I got a good truck. I have not had the troubles that many of you experience with the different tunes. That’s why I never got the tsb and 1.04R.
It does rain in Cali but rarely

I would agree with "Seemed to run smoother and with less effort. Ran markedly better on the freeway." I don't even have the tune and I think it pulls better in all the gears. I do have the TSB though.

You did such a great review and right on the head with all of the systems that are being offered. I would have to second how you feel regarding the different options. Where did you end up routing your tailpipe option? Stock location?

Thank you. Kept it in stock location.Truck seems to have quite a bit more torque and certainly drives better.

    What's this $1,800 axle back? o_O

I think a lot of folks, including myself, would like to see some comparisons and a bolt up solution. I'm just about to the point where a stand alone, bolt up Y pipe would excite me. Given the cost here, being able to piece it together over time would be killer for peeps on a mod budget.

Just a suggestion guys. If you’re interested in doing something call Keith and talk to him. Maybe you can work something out. When I was there the other day he got a lot of calls from guys trying to work something out. It certainly can’t hurt for a quality product.
