About the same as a double cab longbed. Okay fair enough

Supposing the rear fender flare is attached to the cab. Isn’t that going to be a problem when flexing the suspension?

That's one niche I guess. That was a goofy way for me to phrase it. I'm wondering what their sales target number is, if they expect it to carve a niche outside of Jeep guys. Base model pricing will be a big deal.

Looks like it is a Tacoma OR DCLB 4WD wheelbase but with a five foot bed.

It seems workable as a truck, offroadable as a truck, breakover angle (as published) is a poor starting point, if it's accurate in comparison to other offroadable trucks. Breakover angle published on Toyota's website for a Taco DCLB 4WD is 21 degrees, same as the DCSB 4WD, but that can't be accurate, wheelbase is 13 inches longer with the same ground clearance.

Eyeballing the pics, it seems to be versatile, the long wheelbase will limit it sometimes offroad. It can tow and haul, that's for sure, LWB is good for towing long trailers, more stable. I'm just curious about how many will sell and what demographic it sells to.

OK, the Rubicon gets the front and rear lockers standard, but optional for lesser trims. 4.10 axles only on the Rubicon and Sport Tow Package.

180A alternator is stock, 220A and 240A alternators available, gotta love that. 22g fuel tank is adequate, most people would wish for more.

Rubicon only gets the swaybar disconnects and Fox shocks, yes? 44.5' turning circle, that's pretty wide.

Tow weight starts at 4000lb, goes up from there depending on trim. Curb weight is about 4700lbs, not bad. Payload low is 1100lbs.

I have to compliment Jeep for releasing detailed specs, those are pretty thorough, they're not hiding.

At what point does it stop becoming a Jeep with all the mods?

It isn't directly connected, they do talk in some of the follow-up interviews about the bed being separate for flexing. I have no doubt they haven't thought about every little detail, this thing is so designed and built. I heard statement, "if you can see it, we considered it."

Jeep grill, motor, transmission, TC, and 1/2 front is still a unibody. Jeep emblem on front is still there. Also registered as a 2000 Jeep XJ. But I get what your saying. Is this still a Tacoma?

I can see myself buying one of these after they've been out for 2-3 years, gas engine manual trans most likely, emissions BS is killing diesel.

No doubt, at least of some sort, what with the pouches hanging there.

Yeah. The folks who rush out to buy them initially will get bent over by the dealers.

I’m going to seriously consider one... looks to start out in the mid 30s I don’t think it’s a niche market at all, it’s meant to be in the mid size market and it’ll make the competition sweat.

We all know wrangler has the same resale as the taco..... it won’t be any different with this.

I'd bet prices will stay at or above MSRP for at least the first 1.5yrs.

Me too. I've wanted a Wrangler but it's not real practical for me. With two kids and two dogs it was clear a Wrangler wouldn't work for family vacations. That's partially what led me to the Tacoma.

This truck will hit a real sweet spot for me personally.
