I picked it up 25 years ago. When I saw the Stainless steel on the Mannlicher stock, I just had to have it. It has all the standard work: bolt release, polished internals, a bolt buffer. A great little weekend plinker. One day I will break down and get a stainless, (or at least silver colored), scope to match it better.

I kept the International original except for the front and rear sight set, cleaned up the trigger. Really good shooter.

Put this together for my wife a few years ago...

Started with the 10/22 collector series. Replaced everything except the upper receiver and bolt. Wife liked the collector series shiny bolt so i kept it there.

All parts, barrel, trigger, firing pin, extractor, charging handle... pretty much everything is all Tony Kidd parts.

Scope is a cheap BSA majestic dx... no complaints!

Stock... hell we've been through 5... I believe this one is an archangel... but I honestly don't recall which one lol.

Very very accurate. Wife and kids have no issues at 50-75yrds. 100 yards is easily doable if adjusted for bullet drop.

There's over a grand in this 22... which is really overkill.... but my wife and kids don't seem to enjoy shooting as much when they miss every other shot... so I made it damn near impossible to miss hahaha

Quick question to this group. I've got a 10/22 carbine and was thinking of throwing a scope on it. Given that the gun is quite short, I'd like a scope with similar proportions. I've got some scopes in my cabinet and when I simply hold them where it would be mounted, they just look too long. Any suggestions? Would be using for hunting small game. I'm thinking something like a scout sized scope.

Oh - and don't want any electronic red dot/prism system and prefer the least "tactical" looking scope.

Years back the Muller APV was the scope of choice for the 10/22. Mine is 15 years old or more, great scopes.

This is with the sunshade installed.

    @Gettin Lost

    Your response/post is gone?

I have a Nikon rimfire on my 17HMR and love it. That's one I also held up against the 10/22 and it just looked too long. It's like it's overpowering the rifle. I know it's wierd, but I want it to look decent too.

Yea... I deleted my post... The small scope i linked i don't personally have experience with... so i just couldn't recommend it in good conscience.

But I fully understand wanting it to look proportional.

I hate red dot... even the rgb dot.. just not a fan, I NEVER seem to be able to see the dot on my target.

It's towards your limit, but IMO the Leupold VXII 3-9x40 is a lot of glass for the money.

Great scope... but I think that's still going to look big on that smaller carbine.

And at the lower end of the Leupold brand, personally, I think nikon offers more at that price point. Leupold brand would be my choice once we got up in price though

I've got a few Nikon scopes, rangefinder Monarch bino's and a DSLR camera. Like them all. But the newest stuff I've seen looks pretty cheesy.

The glass in the nikon prostaff is excellent. If you have a bass pro near you I'd suggest comparing the rimfire Leupold to the nikon.

My local BPS has both, and I went planning on buying the leupold... until I compared them side by side.

I'm a huge leupold fan... never been a huge nikon fan... but apples to apples, price and performance... I had to give the upper hand to the nikon in these ranges...

Now... Nikon prostaff with bdc is my preferred scope... up to... $600... after that my preferences change a bit lol.
