Ah good call! If I put one of those hideous ass looking things on my truck I would probably take it off immediately after I took 10 steps backwards to see how it looked.

The Goat Truck Armor has Pros/Cons.

    Pros:
    Magnetic
    Easy Install/Removal
    Affordable
    Protects from deep scratches

    Cons:
    Not the most attractive (IMO)
Vibrates while on truck when not at low speeds. Not enough to make noise but enough to rub the clear coat dull which requires buff and wax after removed.

Seems like it was designed to toss on when you go wheel and take off when done. Not sure it would survive if drug across a larger branch or rock but that’s probably the least of your problems.

My vote on a pointless mod is the aluminum TRD skid. Cost more than any after market skid and won’t take anywhere close to the same amount of abuse. I guess they’re attractive but for the life of me I don’t understand why anyone intentionally buys them with the intention of banging it on rocks.

That’s why I sold my TRD skid plate that came on my pro and installed a full set of Mobtown skids. Looked cool but I think it would have been garbage after one hit.

I have considered the GOAT armor for a while. One of my biggest drawbacks is that I’d have to customize for my specific emblems and HC rear bumper.
I thought the vibration would also be an issue, maybe doing more harm than good.
Definitely something you would need to take on and off every time you wheel.

The TRD 1/4” aluminum skid? How is it any different from aftermarket aluminum counterparts (including yours)? They can be had as low as ~$380 which is on par with aftermarket price range.

Ok, I stand slightly corrected. For some reason I thought they were 1/8” thick, not 1/4”. Our skid is $325 for 1/4” aluminum.
