Nice build, nice marketing, blah, blah, blah. Everything I need to know is said right in the center of the pic.

Can’t even spell out “overland” on the merchandise and the direct center of the pages is to “shop now”.

So a business wants to have a "unique" way of spelling a word (that's NEVER happened before) and uses a truck to promote said business? That's also never happened before.

I’m sure it has, more often than it probably should though. I do take offense to the spamming of TW for it and the solicitation of followers that will surely happen because of it.

I’ve been here since TW was a week old and I’ve seen a huge community grow and I really dislike anyone coming in and taking advantage of the community based on a marketing ploy.

If its not a preferred vendor, then yeah I also have an issue with it. And I agree that its a community. But there are plenty of retailers here that do the same thing. and there are plenty that started as members and then made it into a business. They are youtubers and ig money makers here as well. It all comes with it. You either dont accept any, or you do on a pay to play business. In a different community Im an admin, so I know what you mean. I deal with it all the time. But it is a community, and id rather buy products from someone with it actually on a vehicle than a shop without it on there. because how do they know itll work?

As a community, experience is valued, not what your sporting on your rig. OP has 40 posts clearly advertising the rig.

Now, to counterpoint. There are several member on TW with more credibility than the OP. I mean shit, @jberry813 documented how to do an alignment yourself in your garage and in this thread...we get links to products.

As for pushing Chinese garbage goods. Smittybilt is shit Chinese crap. Anyone worth their salt will run warn or superwinch.

I dont agree with your opinion of smittybuilt.

Demello runs smittybuilt. So does Mobtown and quite a few other vendors here. In fact Ive spoken with Both Joe and Mr demello about it and they both sell em and will recommend them.

and whats to say the op hasn't been a member before, but decided to start a new business and this is the way the write off for marketing? Who are you to judge a members credibility on a page that has people asking "will these tires fit" and what type of wheels will fit every 15 new post? This is tw, not ttora or pirate 4x4.

Well, my opinion on smittybilt winches is based on personal experience. I have personally seen 3 of their winches fail and either cause damage or sever pucker factor that resulted in knives cutting synthetic line to avoid damage.

Never seen warn or superwinch fail in that manner so...recommendation by reputable fabricators or not, I won’t ever use them or consider them reputable.

Ok, when was the last time you saw one fail? Can you speak to the model numbers and if the qa and qc is the same as when you saw those 3 fail?

I want to saw 2013 and an XC model. Solenoid stuck in the closed position and pulled a 4Runner into a Jeep and mashed the front bumpers together. Previous issues were around 2009/2010 where a similar issue occurred and as the vehicles were being pulled towards each other and someone stepped in and cut the synthetic line.

DO you know if the manufacture has changed any of the parts in the X20 model comapared to those? or if those winches are even constructed using the same material?

I don’t think I care to know if changes occurred or not. The cost benefit of going with them vs. warn or superwinch isn’t there for me. I care about quality and customer service.

Whether we agree or disagree on how the marketing of products is presented here... shouldn’t we stay on topic?

I have never heard of Adventure Ovrlnd before and just by looking at the first post and # of posts by the account, I have made my own opinion of their shop/truck/marketing. The point I’m trying to make here is: shouldn’t users form their own opinions?
