Was looking in to doing some Morimoto projectors on the truck. Was working out some really good ideas of what I want to do with them aaaand.

Ok... So, the kibosh was placed on the headlights... for now.

The wife (who is much wiser and more responsible than I am) reminded me of the oil spot on the driveway that is under my truck. She suggested that get fixed before I start fucking around with the newest shiney object that captured my attention.

So now... another round of parts collecting has commenced.

    So far: (ordered just now)
    Valve cover gaskets ✔
    Plenum gaskets ✔
    Spark plug seals ✔
    Valve cover bolt washers ✔
    PCV valve ✔
    PCV valve grommet ✔
    Camshaft end plugs ✔
    FIPG gasket maker ✔

Crankshaft / Harmonic Balancer bolt ✔
(Because I'm toying with the idea of a lightened balancer pulley from LC Engineering)

I did manage to hide a cool looking set of tail lights in that order though

I've done a mod or two
They're also the cheapest and come with all the clamps and grease, but Porsche 930 boots work well too if you're up for the extra work.

    Reserected from the dead.
Lost the low beam on my driver side headlights. Switch bulb to passenger side and it works fine. Must be a cut wire in the harness.

Gonna save me some trouble and just tap in from the passenger side.

Wish I knew about those bulbs posted earlier. Just blew $50 bucks on a new set if Silverstars.

    ==========================================

What was the third day for Dan, Mike and I was actually the day we'd meet Zane and Monte for the official start of the trip. We were up early with a lot of miles to cover - and some great stops along the way - before we'd arrive in Cooke City at our designated meeting time of 5pm.

The question on all of our minds - when would Monte show up?

Read all of day 3 and check out the photos:

I actually ordered the GE Megalight Ultra +130s after seeing his post. I'm not overly concerned with the high beam performance. I also ordered up the wiring harness for the ultimate H4 headlight upgrade. My truck has LED bulbs now from the previous owner and I'm not a fan so switching back to regular style bulbs and upgrade the wiring.

I had water leaking into the rear passenger door sill on my double cab a few months ago. When I upgraded the speakers last fall I noticed that the plastic was torn up on that door and had aftermarket glass, so I'm guessing the previous owner had the window smashed and broken into and the cheap shop he used to replace the glass didn't care about being nice to it.

I used some thick plastic that my mattress came in. I cleaned off all the sticky tar because it was mostly covered in dirt and wasn't very sticky. I then used silicone (left over from redoing the shower/bathtub) to attach the plastic. It holds the plastic there, but when I gently pulled it started to separate pretty easily. Next time I'm in there, I'll probably scrape it off and use something else.

Get the 3M Window Weld stuff, 1/4" butyl rope. It's what they use from the factory and the 1/4" is actually a little bigger and will seal better once you clean all the old crap off.

Fresh MT90 in the trans and tcase now. I also upgraded my rear view mirror to a Gentex 177 with auto-dim and compass/temp. Much happier with it over the stock one.

How I spent my morning only to forget to have the spark plug seals that have to be ordered to the store for pickup tonight, also found a nice size hole in my exhaust from the cat-bac so time for that exhaust upgrade I’ve been putting off for years24EE8EEF-B21F-4248-B0DA-8B7407EB9A5E.jpgE1C215A1-632D-4228-B506-D59C2E54E720.jpg

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I'm interested in doing this. How's the install? Does it mount to factory location, or is there modifications that are necessary?

I almost ordered the +130 until I learned the +120 are brighter and less filtered.
