Lol, KBB says I've lost about $4000 since it's two years old and has 60K on the clock.

Makes sense I guess, vehicles that have function other than travel. The one that surprises me is the jeep wrangler. I guess I thought Jeep/Chrysler didn't have very good longevity.

KBB shows my 2016 has depreciated $10k with only 30k miles :pout:

My 2004 only depreciated $4k in 12 years.

I don’t think mine has held value well. Paid $32,900.

    Trade in value $27,000.

Of course private sale is a little better.

I know mine hasn't held it's value that well. I'm ok with it since knowing that it will last me 20 years if I choose to keep it that long. Picked up my truck in March of 2018 with 13 miles have over 20k now.

They aren't, but Jeep Wranglers have probably a bigger following than Tacomas do. Aftermarket support for jeeps are huge, so I think their resale value has to do more about supply and demand than reliability.

What surprises me about the list is the Tundra, its the worst selling pickup truck on the market but yet has higher resale than any other full sized pickup truck. Why is that??

As you said supply and demand. The supply of used tundras is low, and maybe more people want a used one than new bc of the price of new

Oh dear Lord it's all so confusing. Welcome one and all to the TW circle jerk. It goes something like this:

a). Read thread about how high used tacos are going for at the DEALER.

b). Read thread about how low TRADE IN value is.

Post on how disappointed you are with the resale value.

Rinse and repeat, scratch head a few times, strike the Thinker pose on the loo....if you can't figure it out read the spoiler below.....I'll give you. hint before you do. Taco resale values are excellent.

pssst.......dealers are selling at retail or a tad higher than private party. They make a PROFIT and stay in BUSINESS by buying HI and selling LOW.

Prolapsing ones anus comparing TRADE IN value vs. RETAIL value is just silly, but oh so Third Gen forum. Take a deep breath and compare retail value to what you paid for it...see don't things look better?

Four things the taco, the tundra and the 4runner have in common.

    1. They're fairly mechanically simple.
    2. Their competition consistently out-contents them.
    3. Their competition consistently out-powers them.
    4. The Toyota trio consistently holds their value better.

    Hmmmm......

I think you might want to use the edit function? Or is my reading comprehension reversed?
