Eh it might be, but the lookouts to some of the cliff dwellings get closed so people don't fall off cliffs

Did the dealership give you any flack for getting it? I want to do that but I heard that sometimes they aren't willing to do it.

Hard to answer what to look out for. Imagine the worst winter weather you've ever seen out there in PA, and in some places in the high country it can be doing that at 9am and by 4pm will be clear and sunny, maybe even in the 50s. High country weather can be wildly unpredictable and rapidly changing. The best advice I can give is to be prepared to be stranded for a couple of days, and then hope it doesn't happen (and probably won't). Be sure to drive appropriate to conditions - that doesn't mean 5mph with a dusting of snow on the road, but it also doesn't mean 75 through blowing snow and possible ice. I mean, this was a week ago on the interstate up there: http://imfromdenver.com/out-of-state-driver-with-florida-plates-causes-multiple-car-pile-up-on-i-70/

As far as Sneffels, I'm going to say that if you have to ask and with that phrasing, the answer is no. It will definitely be winter climbing conditions, possibly requiring use of snowshoes and/or crampons. As already mentioned you may not be able to drive up into Yankee at this point, or you might be able to drive partway but definitely not as far as during the summer. You could probably do an approach hike along the road. I honestly don't know what the current snow cover is right now, because it can vary quite a bit with elevation. In RMNP right now for example, east side lower elevations around the entrance are wet but not snow covered, a little higher is snow covered as is the west side: https://www.nps.gov/romo/learn/photosmultimedia/webcams.htm It's just starting to snow right now down here in FTC (or trying to). Ouray doesn't look bad, but it's not dry pavement: http://www.the-webcam-network.com/Colorado-USA/Ouray/2987473.html Mesa Verde is high desert. Webcams there have patchy snow on the ground. The cliff dwellings you can get up to and inside are closed for the season, but you can still drive to overlooks and look down on them: https://www.nps.gov/meve/planyourvisit/conditions.htm

Don't let the weather discourage you though. There's plenty you can do, you just need to be adaptable and not expecting a summer or even fall vacation. Dispersed camping is going to be somewhat hit or miss. There are a lot of areas with forest roads you can camp on, but the condition of those roads may vary widely.

Just tell them "Searches for gears when climbing elevation and intermittent when accelerating as well as poor performance"

That is the verbiage the service guy told me to say when I wanted to get it done.

When i bought my last xj, i made it 4 miles or so from the dipshits house i bought it from before the rear wheel decided it didn't want to be connected to the hub. Thankfully it stayed in the wheel well and i was able to backtrack and find a few of the lug nuts.

Yup, i lived next to Stevenson west, within walking distance if needed and I'd drive over to mountain states which is saying a lot for someone who detests driving in more traffic than needed.

Hi! I’m new here, I’m in Denver and psyched to meet you guys at meet-ups/trail rides/mod nights if you do them!

Anyways, I’m psyched because I’m headed to the Springs tomorrow to get my RA Built sliders installed! I’ll post some glamour shots when I get them!

The two most important coordinates you’ll need for all the hardcore meet-ups

    (39.5621660, -104.8764509)

    (39.9334669, -105.1312476)
