Nice write up! Wish I saw this when it was warmer for the install. How are the heaters holding up? There’s no reviews on Amazon for them

They are holding up great! Honestly my favorite mod so far just because I use them all the time. The two settings is perfect. When it's on high it gets hot fast which is great for starting up but after 5 mins of that you will sweat your ass of so then I put it on low. Happy with them for sure.

Disclaimer: I'm a noob electrician. That being said I dont see why not. What you said makes sense to me. If I remember when I was doing my own I had the same thought since I also dont have the sunroof and the reason I didnt was that the add a fuse that I purchased was a max 10amp add a fuse so it could only support 1 seat. If you had an add a fuse that could tap into the full 20amp for the sunroof I dont see why not. But like i said total noob at electrical...what I know I learned from the videos I linked and that's about it lol

This is my plan early next year, I’m needing the waterproof seat covers and figured I’d throw in the heated seat option.

It actually worked awesome! The taps I got were 15amp so I left that in the tap and the 10amp fuses in the inline holders they came with.

Tbh, this looks much more daunting than it is. I'd rather throw some covers over this and be able to replace a cheaper cover than one with a heated seat built in. Plus I dont want to see a wire going to a cig loghter... If that is how those work.

Can you post a pic of the fuse box with the tap?

If that’s how they do work I will run and hid a hot wire to them. Couldn’t stand to see a wire like that either.

Is there a simple option for heated seats that is not a fire risk? Don't care about "looking" OEM. Already have coverking neoprene seat covers.

For sake of not wanting to suggest something I'm no expert on, and potentially messing your truck up, I highly recommend using the video in the link to determine what fuses to tap and how to tap them. I say this because OP had an aux fuse and I didn't. He was also able to utilize the washer and I was not due to power coming from both sides of the fuse holder.

As far as the taps, my truck required these ABN Fuse Tap Fuse Holder & Fuse... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BU59QA8?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

My clazzio seat heaters have a red (hot), black (ground), and a yellow which it's says goes to switched power. I think I'm good with the red and black but how do I go about the yellow(switched power)?

    ...stuff
It’s for the switch to illuminate when you turn on the headlights.

    Use a cheap volt meter.
You Tap off a nearby switch, really easy to do

    -Pull out the nearby switch.
-Tap the black stick of the volt meter on a ground, a bolt or something nearby.
-Put the red stick in to the different slots on the back of the switch.
    -It should read 0 volts
-Turn on the headlights, and if it jumps from 0 to 12 volts with the headlights turning on; then that’s the wire you tap in to using a wire tap.

Finish putting it all together, and drink a beer.

Way beyond my comfort zone, but very impressed. Nice job.
Toyotas a bunch of a —holes for not having heated seats in off-road vehicles that spend alot of time in the cold. Crappy old subarus have them!! Pretty obvious they dont ask Taco owners for input. Or we would all have bilstein 5100s as well for a starting point, not “2100s” or whatever is on my Sport.
Ok done freaking out for the day. Moving on...

Well Subaru’s only have them on the premium and up models. You can easily have them on a Tacoma but you have to pay for the package. Not sure what your argument is.

Though "Premium" is the first step up from the Base model. Not even larger wheels. Does that equate to SR5 in Tacoma land?

Not sure, I’ve never looked at options for anything but the off road. So I couldn’t tell you if you can even get heated seats in an SR5.

Finishing up my heated seats install today and I have a couple questions. In my fuse box there are two 20 amp fuses, one for heated seats and one for sun roof, I checked them both with a voltmeter with the truck off and they both had 12v going to them. If I were to put my add-a-fuse in one of these circuits would my heated seats be powered all the time, hence draining the battery? Also do these fuses have any other function if neither of those options are installed in the truck?
