    With Portland, ME having a significant marine (fishing & cargo) industry and with approximately 3,421 (ok I may have exaggerated a bit there, but there are a lot) marine/boating supply stores, you'd think one of them would carry 1/4" black bungee cord. Negative Ghostrider. They have every other size, shape and color. Had to order some from ebay to change out the orange bungee that came with my camo kayak to black. Mod completed this morning and headed out for some duck hunting later.
